Garnet Jean Burton

   WASHINGTON — Garnet Jean Burton, 75, died Saturday at home.
   Born in West Virginia, she lived in the Trenton area before moving to Robbinsville 17 years ago.
   She retired from Arcadia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, formerly King James Nursing Home, as a certified nurse’s aid with 27 years of service.
   Daughter of the late James V. and Hildred Paine, mother of the late James Burton, step-mother of the late Fran Worthington, she is survived by her husband of 35 years, John H. Burton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Luis Hernandez of Hamilton Square, Billie and Richard Merritt of Penndel, Pa., and Patricia and John Tallone of Hamilton Square; a son and daughter-in-law, Sonny and Lyn Forker of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a stepson, John Burton Jr. and his wife Barbara of Hamilton; a sister, Billie Toms of Bensalem, Pa.; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and two nieces, one nephew, and many friends.
   A memorial gathering was held Tuesday at the Saul Colonial Home, 3796 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
Florence Hopkins

   COOKSTOWN — Florence Hopkins, 84, died Saturday at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold.
   Born in New Hanover, she was a lifetime area resident.
   Wife of the late Ezekiel Hopkins and mother of the late Patricia Roscoe, she is survived by a son, Wayne Hopkins of Cookstown; a son-in-law, William Roscoe of Cookstown; a brother, Robert "Sonny" Nutt of Browns Mills; three sisters, Marie Seeds of Cream Ridge, Irene Hopkins of Cookstown and Ruth Dupee of Millville; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Whitbeck of Cookstown; three grandchildren, Tract Graessle of Chesterfield, Kimberly Kratzer of Cookstown and Melissa Roscoe of Cookstown; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua Gary and Becky, Billy, Matthew and Nicholas Graessle.
   Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main St., in New Egypt.
   Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pemberton Borough.

Ronald R. Figueroa

   HAMILTON — Ronald E. Figueroa, 38, died Aug. 18.
   Born in Newark, he resided in the Hamilton Township area for most of his life.
   He was a member of the Heavy and General Construction Laborers Local Union No. 172.
   Brother of the late Brian Figueroa, he is survived by his parents, Harry and Rose Marie Manzella Figueroa of Mercerville; two brothers, Gary Figueroa of Florida and Paul Figueroa of Mercerville; one sister and brother-in-law, Anna Marie and Francesco Lucci of Hamilton; three nieces and one nephew, Maria Pia, Gabriella Rose, Michael, and Martina Lucci, all at home; and many aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
   The funeral was held Aug. 25 from the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road, Hamilton.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton.
   Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cedar Lane, Hamilton.
Linda J. (McClure) Nehil

   MILLSTONE — Linda J. (McClure) Nehil, 51, of Clarkburg died Aug. 18 at Willow Creek Nursing Home in Somerset.
   Born in Jackson Heights, N.Y., she lived in Kendall Park before moving to Clarksburg 28 years ago. Mrs. Nehil was a registered nurse working for Princeton-Windsor Pediatrics in Princeton Junction, the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, and the Peddie School in Hightstown. She was a 1973 graduate of South Brunswick High School and received her R.N. from the Charles Gregory School of Nursing in Perth Amboy in 1976.
   She was predeceased by her father John McClure, and is survived by her husband James; a son Derek and daughter Lauren Nehil, both at home; her mother Ingrid and stepfather Edward Skurla of Lakewood; two brothers, Steve and his wife Toby McClure of Doylestown, Pa., and David and his wife Linda McClure of Hamilton; and six nieces and nephews.
   A memorial service was held Aug. 26 at the Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 185 Applegarth Road, Monroe Township.
   Private arrangements are under the direction of the Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Ave., New Brunswick.
Charlotte Kiernan

   NEW EGYPT — Charlotte Kiernan, 64, died Aug. 21 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
   Born and raised in Manville, Ms. kiernan was a resident of Washington Crossing, Pa. and Fredon Township before moving to New Egypt 32 years ago.
   Ms. Kiernan was a graduate of Douglass College. She was a partner along with her husband Frank in Kiernan Tax Accounting, a longtime treasurer for the Friends of the Plumsted Township Library, and she was also active in her church, Lady of Fatima Chapel in Ocean Township. She was also a loyal member of the John Birch Society since 1969 and a professional cake decorator specializing in wedding and birthday cakes.
   Daughter of the late Charles and Mary Golcheski and sister of the late Eleanor Mulligan, she is survived by her husband of 42 years, Frank Kiernan of New Egypt; four daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Ajaz Rana of Monmouth Junction, Teresa and James Moon of Yardville, Christine and Robert Null of Lancaster, Pa., and Mary and Alan Hammerschmidt of Freehold; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Phyllis Kiernan of New Egypt and Robert and Jacqueline Kiernan of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, Charles Golcheski of Montgomery and Robert Golcheski of Virginia; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
   A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday from the Church of the New Assumption, 76 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, with Father Clifford officiating.
   Interment was in the parish cemetery.
