Gertrude Horowitz

Mrs. Horowitz, 81, of Hightstown, died Aug. 17 at The Elms of Cranbury. Born in the Perrineville section of Millstone, she had lived in the area for many years. She was secretary-treasurer for H&H Gas, Windsor. Mrs. Horowitz was a longtime member of the Perrineville Jewish Center, where she served in the Chevra Kadisha Jewish burial society for many years. She was also a member of the East Windsor Township Juvenile Council and the Business and Professional Women’s Association, Hightstown. Surviving are her husband, Harry; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Cynthia Horowitz, and Kenny and Shelly Horowitz; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Perrineville Jewish Chapel, followed by interment at the Perrineville Jewish Cemetery. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Marie Theresa Curran

Ms. Curran, 76, of Jackson, died Aug. 26 at Bartley Health Care Nursing & Rehabilitation, Jackson. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived in Staten Island, N.Y., for 40 years before moving to Jackson three years ago. Prior to retiring in 1990, she was a financial clerk for Merrill Lynch, New York City, for 43 years. She was also a former parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Staten Island. Ms. Curran was predeceased by two brothers, John and Louis. Surviving are two nephews and their wives, James and Patricia Curran of Manalapan, and John and Kazuyo Curran of River Edge. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.

Louis Fochesato

Mr. Fochesato, 61, of Englishtown, died Aug. 27 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Newark, he had resided in Bloomfield before moving to Englishtown seven years ago. Prior to retiring, he was an accountant for Lord & Taylor in New York City. He was a former parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, Nutley. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Glenn Lovrich of North Arlington; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and William Tortoriello of Howell; and two nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at Holy Family Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.
