Jamesburg hopes to bring town to public attention with sale

JAMESBURG — The borough has sent out an invitation for visitors to heed the adage "one man’s trash is another man’s treasure."
To that end, the Borough of Jamesburg and the Jamesburg Civic Association are co-sponsoring a townwide yard sale Saturday, Sept 16, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine.
The event helps the residents of Jamesburg make a few bucks and also raises pubic awareness about the borough, said JCA President Elliot Stroul.
"It brings people in from surrounding communities, and gets them walking around the downtown area, which is good for our nice, quaint community here," said Mr. Stroul.
Any resident may participate in the townwide yard sale. Those who register with the borough before Sept. 13 will have their addresses printed on yard sale maps distributed around town prior to the event.
Registration forms cost $2 and proceeds will be used to recoup the costs of advertising and maps.
Residents who would rather not sell their items in their private yards may rent a table in Buckelew Park for $10, in addition to the $2 registration fee.
Proceeds from table fees will benefit the Jamesburg Historical Association.
Registration forms are available at Jamesburg Borough Hall, Mendokers, Lisco’s Country Café, Gray Rock and Supply, Sweet William and Thyme, Family Framers, Better Living, Jamesburg Hardware and online at www.jamesburg.net www.jamesburghistory.com.
