MANVILLE Dorothy A. (Bakitas) Nodes died Sept. 6 at the Haven Hospice Unit located in John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison. She was 74.
Born in Hazleton, Pa., she resided in Piscataway and Middlesex before settling in Manville 14 years ago.
Mrs. Nodes was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough and belonged to their Rosary Society and Leisure Club.
She was a member of the Manville Senior Citizens.
Her son, Melvin "Buddy" Nodes Jr., died in 1995.
Surviving are three daughters, Virginia "Ginny" Bogan of Milford, Marlene Goodwin of Bedford, Va., and Dorothy "Dody" Dymnioski of Middlesex; a sister, Anna Feschuk of Manville; one brother, Harold Bakitas of Manville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sept. 9 from Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home in Manville, followed by a funeral liturgy at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough. Cremation was in Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.
