Breast Cancer Center to present ‘In the Pink’ fashions

The second annual "In the Pink" Fashion Show and Silent Auction will be held on Friday, Sept. 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Westin Princeton at Forrestal Village, Plainsboro.
This inspirational event celebrates the strength, beauty and spirit of breast cancer survivors, and the courage and compassion of their support network.
Fourteen survivors — along with 13 of their husbands, children, sisters, friends, and doctors — will model fall fashions from Aerosoles, Hedy Shepard Ltd., Honey West, Hulits Shoes, Ici Fashion for Children, J. McLaughlin, Rouge, Talbots and The Dandeline Shop.
Hosted by the Breast Cancer Resource Center of the YWCA Princeton, and supported by Capital Health System and Metropolis Spa & Salon, the evening promises to be a moving reminder of the unified team that supports each woman as she battles this disease.
An official pink ribbon-cutting ceremony, presided over by Princeton Township Mayor Phyllis Marchand, will launch October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Guests also will enjoy a sumptuous cocktail reception. Silent and live auctions will take place, offering such stunning items as a white gold and pink tourmaline necklace; rounds of golf at Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster, and The Ridge at Back Brook, Ringoes; stays at holiday homes, bed & breakfasts and hotels in Nantucket, Atlantic City, and Ocean Grove; spa treatments; dinner certificates; dance lessons; gourmet gift baskets, and more.
An estimated 274,900 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. Approximately 3 million women in the United States currently are living with the disease. One hundred percent of the proceeds from "In the Pink" will benefit the YWCA Princeton’s Breast Cancer Resource Center, which is dedicated to providing information and support to women and families affected by breast cancer.
Tickets are $75 per person or $750 for a table of 10. Support "In the Pink" as a Friend ($200), Patron ($300), or Benefactor ($500) and receive two tickets and acknowledgement in the evening’s program book. To reserve seating call (609) 497-2100, ext. 346/349.
