John Thomas Dillon, 69, of Monroe, died at his home Friday, Sept. 8, at his home.
He was born and raised in New York City and lived in Franklin Park for 30 years, before settling in Monroe four years ago. He was a manager with General Motors Corporation in New York City for more than 25 years, before retiring in 1983. In 1985, he returned to work for Merrill Lynch in Somerset, where he remained until 1992. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Also deceased are his wife, Margaret, in 1992; a brother, Joseph, and a sister, Francis Wayne. He is survived by a sister, Margaret Wells of Canada; his nieces and nephews, Theresa (Meyer) Bell, Susan Jones, Dorothy Meyer, Walter Joseph Wayne and Patti and Joseph McDonough; and many others, including great-nieces and nephews who lived with him.
Funeral services were at Tuesday, Sept. 12, from Highland Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 75 Woodbridge Ave., Highland Park, and were followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment then followed at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
