The New Jersey State Bar Foundation will sponsor mock trial workshops for teachers during October, beginning with teachers of grades K-2 Oct. 4 from 9:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Copies of the Foundation’s “Mini-Court Teacher’s Guide” will be distributed at the free workshop.
A law fair/law adventure workshop for teachers of grades three through eight will be Oct. 10 from 9 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Attendees will take part in a mock trial exercise and learn how to enter the Foundation’s law fair competition.
The mock trial workshop for teacher and attorney-coaches will be Oct. 30 from 9 a.m.-1:10 p.m. The law adventure competition structure and judging process will be explained. Teachers attending workshops receive professional development hours.
The seminar, “Special Needs, Trusts and Guardianships for People with Serious Disabilities and Mental Illness” will be presented Oct. 10 by Bridgewater attorney Lawrence A. Friedman. He is a former chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Elder Law Section.
A seminar on municipal court will be presented Oct. 24 by William G. Brigiani of Brigiani, Cohen and Schneider, East Brunswick. Both seminars are free and from 7-9 p.m.

Middlesex County has received an $88,600 grant from the New Jersey DEP to develop a new wastewater management plan for the region. The grant will fund an 18-month long project designed to develop ways to protect water quality and supply within the Lower Raritan/Middlesex County planning area, and ensure the wastewater management needs of existing and future development are met.
