The Southern New Jersey Region of Hadassah will hold its annual Fulfillers of the Dream event at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 at Temple B’nai Tikvah, North Brunswick.
A cocktail hour, featuring an open bar with an hors d’oeuvres buffet, will be followed by dinner.
Speakers will be Dr. David Mankuta and Leona Brauser. Dr. Mankuta, of the Obstetrics Department, Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem, and the former surgeon general of the Israeli Navy, will share his recent experiences during the trouble in Israel. Mankuta has organized and brought aid to countries that have suffered the effects of national disasters. Brauser, who was appointed to the Hadassah National Board in 1997, helped develop the fundraising Keepers of the Gate project and serves as national chairwoman of the undertaking.
All are welcome to attend the event.

United Way seeks Halloween costumes
In an effort to help all children dress up for Halloween the United Way of Ocean County is running its annual Halloween Costume Drive. The organization will be collecting new and gently used costumes through Oct. 20.
During last year’s costume drive, more than 650 costumes were collected and distributed to children in the community through United Way’s Partner Agencies and other Ocean County organizations.
