Tinnie Davis Bell

   BORDENTOWN — Tinnie Davis Bell, 85, died Sunday at the home of her daughter.
   Born in Valdosta, Ga., she lived in the Hamilton and Bordentown areas for over 50 years.
   She retired after many years of service from Charles Sportswear in Trenton.
   Daughter of the late Henry and Alice Davis, wife of the late Edward Bell, and sister of the late Wesley Davis, Virgie Parramore, Maebelle Gibson and Lily Young, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and James Tompkins of Bordentown, with whom she resided; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward Jr. and Karen Bell of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters, Montine Blanton, Frankie Goss, Pearl Lightsey and Hazel Denmark; five grandchildren, Daniel and Jon Bell, and Christopher, Stephanie and Nathan Tompkins; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, Jack and Ethan Tompkins; and many nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Buklad Memorial Home, 2141 Broad St., Hamilton.
   Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
Michael V. Phelan

   COLUMBUS — Major Michael V. Phelan (Ret.), 92, died Friday in Care One at Hamilton.
   Born in New York City, Mr. Phelan resided in Robbinsville for the past 40 years, before recently moving to Columbus.
   He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, and served in Panama and Japan. He retired after 20 years of service with the U.S. Army and was then employed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Personnel in Trenton.
   Mr. Phelan was a member of St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church in Hamilton Square, where he served as an usher for many years, and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling and traveling.
   Father of the late Mary Ann Phelan, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie Phelan; a daughter, Adelaide Phelan; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael S. and Rae Marie Phelan; two brothers, Joseph Phelan and his wife Ruth, and Gene Phelan and his wife Rosalie; his granddaughters, Jennifer Phelan and Doug Billings, Jill Phelan and Robert O’Hare, Megan Phelan and Bill Ramsey, and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services began Tuesday at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
   A funeral mass was celebrated from St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
   Interment followed in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.

John G. Todd Sr.

   BORDENTOWN — John G. Todd Sr., 60, of Bordentown, died Friday at his home.
   Born in Trenton, Mr. Todd was a lifelong Trenton and Bordentown resident. He retired in 1977 after several years of service with the Interbuild Corp. of Hamilton. He was previously employed with Stress-Con Company of Morrisville. He enjoyed hunting, fresh and saltwater fishing, and boating.
   Son of the late Robert L. Todd Jr., brother of the late Joseph R. Todd Jr., Doris L. Buckley and Florence J. Forker, and uncle of the late Lorraine P. Soriero, he is survived by his wife, Carol A. Buckley Todd; five sons and three daughters-in-law, John G. Todd Jr. of Bordentown, Joseph R. Sr. and Tracy Todd of Wrightstown, Robert L. Sr. and Freedom Todd of Hamilton Township, Paul M. and Kelly Todd of Robbinsville, and Charles J. Todd of Bordentown Township; two daughters and one son-in-law, Love and Stephen Nutret and Karoline A. Todd, all of Bordentown Township; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Millie A. Robbins of Robbinsbille and Josephine W. Evert of Jackson Township; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
   The funeral was held Tuesday from the Winowicz Funeral Home, Adeline and Beatty Streets.
   Funeral services were held Tuesday in St. Basil’s Romanian Cathoplic Church with Fr. George David officiating.
   Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton Township.
Genevieve C. Schuster

   BORDENTOWN — Genevieve. C. "Jenny" Hendryk Schuster, 81, died Sept. 15.
   Born in Trenton, Mrs. Schuster was a lifelong Trenton resident.
   She was co-proprietor with her husband, William, of Schuster’s Tomato Pies on Whittaker Avenue, Chambersburg, for 22 years.
   She was very active and supported all functions and activities at Holy Cross Church, and was involved in neighborhood outings and events. She loved to play miniature golf and pitch-n-putt golf with her daughter.
   Daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Bic Hendryk, wife of the late William Paul Schuster, sister of the late Betty DiProspero, Walter Korpulinski, Joseph Hendryk and Catherine Bramley, she is survived by her daughter, Debra Lynn Schuster of Trenton; brother-in-law, Jack DiProspero of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.
   The funeral was held Monday from the Winowicz Funeral Home, Adeline and Beatty Streets.
   Funeral Liturgy was celebrated in the Divine Mercy Parish, Church of the Holy Cross, with Msgr. Edward J. Arnister presiding.
   Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton Township.
Genevieve I. Hawley

   BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP — Genevieve I. "Sose" Tysko Hawley, 85, of Bordentown Township, died Sept. 14 at her home.
   Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Hawley grew up in East Trenton and was a resident of Bordentown Township since 1959. She was a professional dog groomer in the Bordentown area for many years.
   She was a member and past president of the Holy Cross Crusaders; member of the Catholic War Veterans, Holy Cross Post, 417, Ladies Auxiliary, the CWV Retired Generals, the Holy Cross Altar-Rosary Society and the Mount Carmel Guild.
   Daughter of the late Walter and Mary Borkowska Tysko, wife of the late Arthur Hawley, and sister of the late Edward and Benjamin Tysko, she is survived by her sister, Phyllis Devey of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three nieces, Beverly Passerella of Hamilton Township, Jacqueline Bleasdale of Cranbury, and Maureen Heaslet of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two nephews, John Bleasdale of Palm Bay, Fla. and Michael Bleasdale of Calif.; close friends, Sallie Toscano of Cranbury and Kim and Eric Ingenbrandt of Bordentown Townshop; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
   The funeral was held Saturday from the Winowicz Funeral Home, Adeline and Beatty Streets, South Trenton. The Funeral Liturgy was celebrated Saturday in the Divine Mercy Parish, Church of the Holy Cross, with Msgr. Edward J. Arnister presiding. Burial was in the Bordentown Cemetery.

Norman T. Peppler

   FREEHOLD — Norman T. Peppler, 101, of Freehold, died Sept. 13 at his home.
   Born in Upper Freehold Township, he resided in Allentown for 68 years, moving to Rossmoor Community, Monroe Township, in 1972 and then to Freehold in 1990.
   Mr. Peppler owned and operated the Peppler Funeral Home from 1927 until his retirement in 1972.
   An active member of the Allentown United Methodist Church for 87 years, he was an exempt member of the Hope Fire Company of Allentown and a Charter Member and Past President of the Allentown Lions Club. He was a past president of the Mercer County Funeral Directors Association and senior Past Master of Gothic-Fraternal Lodge 270, recently recognized as an 80-year member. He also served as Grand Chaplain for the Grand Lodge of New Jersey in 1979-80 and was a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Central Jersey and Crescent Temple Shrine AAONMS.
   Predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Elizabeth Wilson Peppler and his son, Ronald C. Peppler, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Edgar and Jackie of Columbus, Bob and Judy of Allentown and Dick and Pat of Memphis, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Sharon and Doug Tootell, Edgar Jr. and Sandi Peppler, Robert Jr. and Lori Peppler, Karen Peppler and Brian Peppler; five great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jaclyn Tootell and Morgan, Ross and Madison Peppler; a nephew, Donald and wife Jean Peppler of Interlaken; and a niece, Mary Van Hise of Freehold.
   Masonic service was held Sunday followed by the funeral service at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, with the Rev. Merton Steelman officiating.
   Interment was held Monday at the Allentown Presbyterian Cemetery.

Carolyn D. Pineda

   ROEBLING — Evangelist Carolyn D. Pineda, 42, died Sept. 9 at her residence.
   Born and raised in New Brunswick, Ms. Pineda was educated in the Middlesex County Public School System. She relocated to Roebling where she resided for the past three years.
   Ms. Pineda was a highly esteemed member of True Servant Worship and Praise Church, Hamilton, where she was employed as the executive administrator.
   Known for her passion to minister to hurting women and children, she was the former director of God’s Young United Servants (GYUS) and Stepping Stones Christian Pre-School and Daycare Center at True Servant, founder and CEO of Y? A.S.K. U.S. (Aids Survivors, Knitted, United, Standing), and the author of "Preaching with AIDS – the Carolyn Jenkins Story."
   As CEO of CJP Ministries, and host of the regional women’s conference Woman Warrior, her ministry was not limited to local impact. She was an annual speaker at the CeCe Winans’ Conference "Always Sisters," guest of James Robison’s Life Today Broadcast and National Minister of Compassion and Care of Covenant Ecumenical Fellowship and Cathedral Assemblies (CEFCA) under the leadership of Bishop Donald Hilliard Jr. Internationally, she was most recently recognized for her guest appearance on Trinity Broadcasting Network’s Praise the Lord show.
   Predeceased by her father, Eddie Jenkins, and two sons, Raheem and Hakeem Benton, she is survived by her husband, Alexander Pineda of Roebling; one daughter, Iesha Jenkins-Peoples (Robert); grandchildren, Khyturah and Egypt Peoples, all of Bensalem, Pa.; her mother, Ethel Jenkins of Columbus; one sister, Theresa Jenkins of Bordentown; three brothers, Bishop Edward Earl Jenkins (Sheila) of Columbus, Elder Carl Jenkins (Tina) of Willingboro and Eric Jenkins of Hightstown; two sisters-in-law, Ellie Rivera (Jose) and Nereida Matos, both of Trenton; three brothers-in-law, Antonio Pineda (Gloria), Ricardo and Noel Pineda, all of Trenton; special friend Gwen Holmes of Columbus, Ga.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
   Funeral services were held Sept. 15 at True Servant Worship and Praise Church, 2630 S. Broad St., where her brother, Bishop E. Earl Jenkins, serves as Pastor. Bishop Donald L. Hilliard Jr., senior pastor of Cathedral International, Perth Amboy, was eulogist.
   Interment was at Colonial Memorial Park, Hamilton.
