John Mackay, 85, of Monroe, died Thursday, Sept, 14, at St. Peters University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Born in Pittsburgh, he resided in Cranford and East Brunswick, before moving to Monroe. Mr. Mackay was retired as a machinist shop supervisor from Exxon Corp. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of VFW Post 133 in East Brunswick.
His wife, Edel Weiss Lauxman Mackay, died in June1. His daughter, Cynthia Carson, died in April. He is survived by three sons: Barry and his wife, Brenda Mackay, of Monroe, John Jr. and his wife, Joan Mackay, of Monroe, and Drew and his wife, Barbara Mackay, of Spotswood; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
