Juricic in ‘7th’ heaven

Talk about great starts. Erika Juricic already has seven goals and her Hightstown High girls’ varsity soccer team is only four games into its season.
One of Juricic’s best performances came in front of her hometown fans this past Monday when she scored three goals in Hightstown’s 7-0 blowout win over Allentown.
Juricic scored the Rams’ first goal off a Brianna Byrne feed and the Rams’ attackers didn’t let up until they had a 5-0 halftime lead.
Brianne Teichmann and Sami Raymond assisted on her other scores. Raymond ended up with a goal and two assists as she dished off a pass which led to one of Ify Onochie’s two scores. Carissa Wolkiewicz had pair of assists while Kayla Reddington (assisted by Jill Diadone) booted Hightstown’s final goal in the second half.
"We played a very good game and moved the ball well. The kids played very, very unselfish soccer," noted Hightstown Coach Don Hess.
Tara Miluszewski, Hightstown’s great goalkeeper, had to make just a pair of saves to earn the shutout. The Rams, meanwhile, made the most of their 10 shots on goal.
Despite a second-half tally by Juricic, Hopewell Valley topped Hightstown, 5-1, on Tuesday at Hightstown.
"Hopewell is dynamite. They’re like a college team," said Hess. "Hopewell beat us in every aspect of the game. They took us out of what we do. I don’t think we strung three or four passes together."
Time after time Miluszewski would punt the ball to midfield only to see Hopewell Valley’s offense come right back down field with the ball. The Rams’ star goalie made six big saves just to keep the game relatively close.
"She (Miluszewski) came into school on Wednesday morning and she was all bruised up. That shows you how hard she works," said Hess. "We have a really tough week ahead off us. But this is still the best start (3-1) we’ve had in a few years."
Hightstown was scheduled to have hosted a very good Lawrence squad yesterday (Thursday). It is scheduled to host the Princeton Day School on Monday and on Tuesday it is scheduled at West Windsor-Plainsboro South.
   BOYS

The Hun School beat the Hightstown’s boys’ varsity soccer team 2-0 on Monday in Princeton. Adam Henrey did collect five saves in a losing cause.
On Tuesday the Rams played well but lost a 3-2 decision at Hopewell Valley. Tommy Fallon and Bryan Worth each had a goal for Hightstown, which was outshot 19-8. Henrey had eight saves.
Hightstown (2-2) was scheduled at Lawrence yesterday (Thursday). It is scheduled at West Windsor-Plainsboro South on Tuesday.
