Mary DiDonato
Mary Eva DiDonato died Sunday at the University Medical Center at Princeton. She was 76.
Born in Montgomery, Ala., she was a resident of Lawrence Township for the past 50 years.
Mrs. DiDonato is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in early education. She has taught school in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky and New Jersey. For the 20 years prior to her retirement, she served as Director of the East Trenton Day Care Center.
Daughter of the late Simon-Peter and Mary Eva (Darby) Knighten, of Montgomery, Ala., she is survived by her husband of 52 years, S. Leonard DiDonato; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Dennis Massimo, of Princeton; a son and daughter-in-law, Brooks and Monique DiDonato, of Columbus; and a son, Dale DiDonato, of Lawrence.
She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Tharpe Forrester, of Montgomery Ala.; a sister, Dr. Edna Smit, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Sam Nini, of Princeton; a brother-in-law, Buddy DiDonato, of Hamilton; and five grandchildren, Madeleine DiDonato, of Columbus; Justin, Sean and Kristen Massimo, of Princeton; Brooks DiDonato, of Dallas, Texas; nieces and nephews Nancy, Knighten, and Houston Smit; Drew and Dawn DiDonato; Heidi, Mitchell and Kevin Nini; Scottie and Darby Forrester, of Montgomery, Ala.; and many close friends.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church, 2688 Main Street. Private burial will be in the Lawrenceville Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 6 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road.
Albert Wilson
Albert "Al" Wilson died Sept. 20 at Compassionate Care Hospice at Saint Francis Medical Center, Trenton. He was 100.
Born in Longton, Stoke on Trent, England, he resided in Lawrence Township after immigrating to the United States in 1926 where he worked in the local Trenton pottery mills.
Mr. Wilson played soccer for the Trenton Highlanders and the Philadelphia German Americans. During the 1937-38 season, he helped lead the Highlanders to the National Amateur Cup Championship. It was the most prestigious title to be awarded in amateur soccer. They were the only Trenton team to ever win this prize and later went on to represent the United States in the Pan American Games in Dallas, Texas. He coached local teams in Lawrence and Trenton and was instrumental in the development of their younger players. He was recognized for his outstanding achievement and service to the sport of soccer and honored by being inducted into both the Philadelphia and Mercer County Halls of Fame.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran who served during World War II as a mechanic in the Normandy, Omaha Beach offensive. He was sole owner/driver of Wilson Taxi Service in Lawrence Township and retired in 1986 after being in business for 40 years.
Son of the late Annie Bailey and Sampson George Wilson of Longton, England, husband of the late Anna Napiorkowski Wilson and brother of the late Alfred James Wilson and five sisters in Longton, England, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Marcia Wilson, of Hamilton Square; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Anthony Brenna, also of Hamilton Square; three granddaughters, Lauren and Lindsay Brenna, of Hamilton Square and Stacie Wilson Wible, of Burlington, her husband Bryan, their daughter and his great-granddaughter Nina; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Saturday at the Winowicz Funeral Chapel. Burial was in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, Hamilton Township.

James Brant
James J. Brant, of Lawrence, died Sept. 20. He was 89.
Born in Jersey City, he formerly resided in Medford Lakes, Marion, Ind. and Lancaster, Pa.
Mr. Brant was vice president of personnel and labor relations for R.C.A. at the time of his retirement in 1982. His forty year career with R.C.A. included assignments in New York City, Cherry Hill, Camden, Lancaster, Pa., Marion Ind. and Harrison.
Mr. Brant was a graduate of Regis High School in Manhattan and attended Rutgers University, then Rutgers College.
Son of the late Harry and Josephine Coughlin Brant, he is survived by his wife, Anne Greene Brant, two sons, James Stephen Brant and Richard Thomas Brant, and three daughters, Lois Anne DeMoss, Patricia Ellen England and Regina Mary Bradford, and his brother, Edwin Brant. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday at the Church of St. Ann. Burial was in the Lawrenceville Cemetery.

Marie Wychowsky Letts
Marie Wychowsky Letts, of Lawrenceville, died Sept. 21 in Care One at Hamilton. She was 87.
Born in Perth Amboy, she resided most of her life in Metuchen before moving to Lawrence fifteen years ago.
Mrs. Letts was a retired district manager for Roaman’s ladies apparel in Eatontown.
Daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Ann Wychowsky, wife of the late Larry Letts and mother and mother-in-law of the late Elizabeth "Betty" Haluko and Michael Haluko Jr., she is survived by her grandson, Michael L. Haluko.
A memorial service will be scheduled for late October. Burial will be in Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
Jeffrey Vervuurt
Jeffrey C. Vervuurt, of Lawrence, died Sept. 19. He was 40.
Born in Queens, N.Y., he was a resident of West Windsor Township before moving to Lawrence.
Mr. Vervuurt was a 1984 graduate of West Windsor Plainsboro High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from West Chester University in Pennsylvania.
He was employed with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection in Trenton.
Predeceased by his mother, Marcia Vervuurt; he is survived by his father, Hugo Vervuurt; his sister, Audrey Vervuurt; his aunt Ninon Lapidus, of New York, several cousins, and many friends.
Private graveside services were held at Beth Abraham Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Viola Titus
Viola M. Titus died Saturday at the University Medical Center at Princeton of complications from pneumonia. She was 100.
Born in Baker’s Basin in 1906, Ms. Titus graduated from Trenton Normal School.
She received her teaching certification at Rutgers University and later attended Columbia University. She went on to a 44-year career as a teacher and principal in the Roselle Park public school system.
Ms. Titus was an active member of the Colonel Joseph Stout Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a lifelong member of the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church, of which her ancestors were among the founding families.
She is survived by her niece, Dr. Adelaide V. "Van" Titus, of Cazenovia, N.Y.; a grand-nephew, Richard C. Titus and grand-niece, Patricia Timberlake, both of California.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 N. Main St., Pennington. Interment will follow in Lawrenceville Cemetery.

Kathleen Glenn
HAMILTON Kathleen A. Glenn died Sept. 19 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton. She was 52.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident.
Ms. Glenn was a mental health advocate for Catholic Charities in Trenton for the past 10 years.
She was a graduate of Steinert High School, Class of 1972 and later received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of New Jersey, then Trenton State College.
She is survived by her mother, Kathryn Connor Glenn, of South Seaside Park; her father, James J. Glenn, of Whiting; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James J. and Marlene Glenn, of Trenton and Stephen and Cathe Glenn, of Barnegat; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary and Ron Caruso, of Lawrence and Ann Glenn of Richmond, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, Hamilton. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton.

Jennie Leone
HAMILTON Jennie V. Leone died Tuesday at the Mercer County Geriatric Center in Hamilton. She was 87.
Born in Trenton, Ms. Leone was a lifelong area resident.
She was a parishioner of the Church of the Sacred Heart in Trenton.
Daughter of the late Frank and Jennie Urciouli Leone and sister of the late Pasquale Leone, Jeanette Jasinski, and Virginia Onofri, she is survived by one brother-in-law, Stanley Jasinski, of Hamilton; one sister-in-law, Anna Leone; nieces and nephews, Pat Leone, of Virginia, Delores Houck, of Maryland, Angelo Onofri Jr., of Hamilton, Walter Jasinski, of Bordentown, JoAnn Jasinski, of Lawrence, Gerald Leone, of Ewing, and Frances Hammer, of Florida; several great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Saturday at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, Hamilton. Entombment was in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton.
