Willard E. Hammond
HAMILTON Willard E. "Bill" Hammond, 94, died Sept. 21 at his home.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong resident of Trenton and Hamilton Township and was a graduate of Trenton High School, class of 1929.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in North Africa, Sicily and Italy.
He retired on June 30, 1985, as a printer, from All-State Legal Supply Company in Cranford after many years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lillian Hammond of Yardville; a daughter, Linda Ludwig of Yardville and her partner, Paul Lynn of Robbinsville; a grandson, John Ludwig Jr. and his wife, Danielle, of Bordentown; his nephews, Dean Hammond and his wife, Peggy, of Levittown, Pa., Don Hammond and his wife, Sandy, of Stockton and Don Ciccone and his wife, MaryAnn, of Bordentown; his nieces, Colleen Hammond of Texas, Marge Nocera of Robbinsville, Adeline Carnevale of Hamilton as well as many great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral was held Saturday at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, 555 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville.
Interment followed in Ewing Cemetery, Ewing.
J. Sherman Ogden
VINCETOWN J. Sherman Ogden, 92, died Sept. 21 at home in the Vincetown section of Southampton Township.
Born Aug. 6, 1914, in Paterson, he was the son of James S. and Helen Case Ogden. He had resided in Bound Brook most of his life, moving to Vincetown 22 years ago.
Mr. Odgen was a graduate of Bound Brook High School and the Stonier School of Banking, Class of 1953. His career in banking began at the First National Bank of Bound Brook, years ago. Later, he served as president of the Somerville Savings Bank, Somerville, and as president of First National Bank of Scotch Plains, Scotch Plains. He then worked for the State of New Jersey as a bar examiner, retiring in 1984.
Mr. Ogden was a past member of Raritan Valley Lodge No. 46, F&A.M., Somerville, where he had been a member for 60 years. He was a member of the Cooper Hill Country Club, Flemington, and the Pine Brook Country Club, Belle Mead. He had served as a councilman for the Borough of Bound Brook years ago, and had been a memebr of the Somerville Rotary Club. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Bound Brook, where he was active in church affairs.
Predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Haase Ogden, he is survived by his son, Peter Ogden of Robbinsville; his daughter, Jane Haines Garcia of Cherry Hill; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Masonic funeral service was held Wednesday at Hagan Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook.
Church services were private, at the convenience of the family.
Interment was at Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook.

George G. Liebhart
WHITING George G. Liebhart, 82, died Sept. 16 at the Community Medical Center in Toms River.
Mt. Liebhart lived in Trenton for 42 years. He relocated to Whiting, where he resided the last nine years.
Mr. Liebhart worked for the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company as a meat cutter for more than 32 years until his retirement in 1982. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 129 in Toms River.
Mr. Liebhart was very active in the adult community, where he and his wife donated much of their time to programs such as Meals on Wheels and C.A.R.E.S. He was an avid fisherman and zealous fan of the Philiadelphia Phillies.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary; his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Barbara Liebhart of Yardville; his daughter and son-in-law, Jay and Karen Nickerson of Allentown; and four grandchildren, Lea, Stefan, Kira, and Mary.
Mass of Chrisitan Burial was held Sept. 21 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Allentown-Yardville Road, Allentown.
Interment followed in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneystown.

Marjorie Ann Allen
WASHINGTON Marjorie Ann Allen (nee Nelson), 78, died at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Hamilton.
She was employed in Clearwater, Fla. before she retired. She returned to New Jersey to live with her daughter, Barbara, after her husband died.
Mrs. Allen enjoyed cooking, playing Scrabble, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved all animals, especially cats, and was a voracious reader.
Predeceased by her husband, William "Buzzy" Allen, her brother Howard Nelson, and stepdaughter, Kathy Allen; she is survived by a sister, Joyce Schurk of Cape Cod, Mass.; a daughter, Barbara Konrad of Robbinsville; and two sons and their wives, William and Irene Olenick of Zermatt, Switzerland and Anthony and Lori Olenick of Spring Hill, Fla.; three grandchildren, Robin and Stacy Konrad and Nicole Olenick; one great-grandchild; one nephew, Brian Schurk of Hyannis, Mass.; and several stepchildren and stepgrandchildren.
A memorial service with Mr. and Mrs. Allen’s ashes will be spread at sea will be held at a later date by the family, out of Newport, R.I.

Jennifer Testa Clayton
UNIONTOWN, Md. Jennifer Testa Clayton, 38, a longtime resident of Millstone, died on Aug. 17 as a result of a bicycle accident.
Ms. Clayton grew up in Millstone and was a 1986 graduate of Allentown High School, Allentown. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology from McDaniel College, Westminster, Md., and her master’s degree in bio-medical sciences from Hood College in Frederick, Md. Mrs. Clayton left the field of bio-medical research after 10 years at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Md., received her teaching certification and became a science teacher.
Ms. Clayton was a member of Uniontown United Methodist Church, where she was active in outreach to the community, especially through her coordination of the volunteer food pantry at Westminster Church of the Brethren.
She was a passionate and gifted athlete until the time of her death. As a field hockey goalie at Western Maryland College, she held many records. She enjoyed bicycling, running and triathalons. She was also an expert swimmer, swimming the width of the Chesapeake Bay, and was a swim master in the YMCA swim program.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Michael Allen Clayton; her three children, Lexie, Patrick and Jesse; her parents; a brother, Fredrick Testa, Jr. of Newberg, Ore.; a sister, Margo Lee Testa of East Brunswick; paternal grandmother, Lena Testa of Hillside; and maternal grandmother, Stephanie Sanford DiGiovanni of Deltona, Fla.
