Gus Gellens
Gus Gellens, 93, a farmer and food distributor in Pennington for over 40 years, died Sunday at his residence in Riverdale, N.Y.
Born in New York City, Mr. Gellens was a longtime resident of Hopewell Township and Pennington. He later resided in Ewing Township before moving to New York.
He was a graduate of the Evander Childs High School and National Farm School, Class of 1936, in Doylestown, Pa. Mr. Gellens was a member of Har Sinai Temple, Trenton.
Husband of the late Edith Levy Gellens, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Martha Gellens of Riverdale, N.Y.; two daughters, Ross Seigel of Yonkers, N.Y., and Elly Mialon of Montreal, Canada; four grandchildren, Saadya Gellens, Charles Seigel, Yugo and Anna Mialon; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing Township.
Burial will follow at Ewing Cemetery.
The period of mourning will be observed at the Gellens residence in Riverdale, N.Y.
Memorial contributions may be made to Har Sinai Temple or Greenwood House.
Beverly E. L. Bamford
Beverly Eileen Lucas Bamford, 86, of Bellefonte, Pa., formerly of Leesburg, Fla., and Pennington, died Sept. 21 at Centre Crest Nursing Home. She was born in Akron, Ohio.
Predeceased by her parents Beulah Elizabeth Lucas and Ira Packard Lucas, her husband Henry Spencer Bamford and a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Schurr, she is survived by children, Edward Henry Bamford and his wife Julia of Greenville, S.C., Mildred Ruth Dyson and her husband John of Glendale, Ariz., Charles William and his wife Ann of Mechanicsville, Pa., Diana Beverly Bamford-Rees of Philadelphia, Pa., and Deborah Susan Bamford of State College, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi Shuey and husband Don, and Jacqueline Mulfinger of Pleasant Gap, Pa.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A 1936 graduate of Bellefonte High School, she spent many years as a wife, mother and homemaker. She also worked as a restaurant hostess and dining room supervisor. To her family she left the "black book" of favorite recipes most her own creations handwritten by her.
She also was a longtime active member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Pennington, where she worked with fundraising activities, such as Christmas Bazaar luncheons.
A mass will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Bellefonte, Pa., on Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. This will be followed by a luncheon in the parish hall and a celebration of Ms. Bamford’s life.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Home, Bellefonte, Pa.

Nicholas G. Hope
Nicholas Gerard Hope, 4, of Lambertville, died Sept. 26 at his home.
Nick was a Spiderman fan with a collection of over 500 Spiderman objects.
The son of Howard D. Hope and Stephanie A. (Modaffare) Hope and brother of Clayton D. Hope, he is survived by his maternal grandparents Susan and Frank Modaffare; paternal grandparents Lynda and Howard Hope; aunts and uncles Karri and Frank Modaffare, Dana Marceau, Tom Dickson III, Cindy and Ken Niemiec and Angela and Mike Williams; a great-grandmother Frieda Modaffare; and other relatives and friends, including his cousin and best friend Domi.
Arrangements were by Cromwell-Immordino Memorial Home, Hopewell.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Hopewell.
Interment was in Highland Cemetery.
