Possible CHS move about greed, not need
To the editor:
My husband and I recently moved to an adult community in Lawrence from New York City. We chose this quiet, affordable and secure community because we felt it would suit our needs at this time of our lives.
Now we find our future lifestyle will be negatively impacted because of Capital Health System’s Mercer hospital’s proposed move to Lawrence.
This move will mean higher property taxes for our senior citizen community. Other negative problems will occur such as more traffic, additional roads, police and safety issues. For Trenton it will mean the abandonment of the local and poor population.
Apparently Mercer’s desire to build in Lawrence is not about any citizen need but about Mercer’s greed.
