Cranbury School ends search for new business administrator

   The search is over.
A new business administrator has been hired to join the Cranbury School district Dec. 1, officials announced Tuesday night.
Florence resident Carolyn Eversole will replace Brian DeLucia, who has been with the district since 2002. Her starting salary for her first full year is $106,000.
Ms. Eversole graduated from Clarkson University, Potsdam, N.Y., with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She then worked as a partner in a public accounting firm, before joining the Trenton School District. In 1993, she was hired by the West Windsor-Plainsboro School district as controller and was promoted to business administrator in 1998, where she still works today.
"I’m very excited about this opportunity," she said. "I was very impressed with both the staff and the facilities when I walked through. I think that Cranbury has a lovely school and I’m looking forward to being part of it."
School board President Joan Rue said the district had a wonderful field of candidates to consider, but Chief School Administrator Carol Malouf chose Ms. Eversole as the best candidate based on her professionalism and her experience, as well as her ability to think creatively.
"What stood out the most for us was her complete professionalism and her ability to think outside of the box, to realize that, in order for a school district in these economic times to deliver the programs it wants, she will have to find creative ways to make good use of every dollar we earn," Ms. Rue said.
"We had had a chance to interview her, but in the end it was Ms. Malouf’s recommendation that this be our candidate and we on the board completely concurred."
