Nina Leona Davis Keel, 88, of Pennington died Sept. 22 at Stony Brook Assisted Living, Pennington.
Born in Padacua, Texas, she was a longtime teacher for the Jefferson County Public Schools in Alabama. She was president of the local chapter for the American Association of University Women. She was active in the Texas Women’s University.
Mrs. Keel attended the Pennington United Methodist Church in Pennington.
Daughter of the late John Floyd and Beulah Daniel Davis and wife of the late Hugh Nash Keel Jr., she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Hugh Nash Keel III and Keiko Keel of Hawaii and James and Tracey Keel of Watertown, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Alan Flesher of Lawrenceville; five grandchildren, Scott Flesher, Dan Flesher, Lisa Keel, Kirsten Stevenson and Danielle Siegrist; and two great-grandchildren, Alex Burt and Ashley Stevenson.
A memorial service will be held Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. at the Pennington United Methodist Church, 60 S. Main St., Pennington, with the Rev. James Hofacker, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be private in Texas. There will be no calling hours.
