The Friends of the Princeton Public Library Annual Book Sale, which will take place Oct. 20 through 22, will feature a large variety of like-new DVDs, including classic Hollywood movies, newer movies and TV series. An added attraction is a rich selection of books on mysticism and Tibetan, Buddhist and Hindu religions.
According to Stuart Mitchner, Book Sale Coordinator for more than 16 years, this year’s sale offers an especially broad spectrum of fiction and non-fiction, along with a good selection of books for children. Shoppers will find ample choices suitable for gifts for readers of all ages and interests.
Paperbacks, softcover and hardcover books are priced from 50 cents to $20, with special selections higher. All sale proceeds go to the library for the purchase of new books and audio and video materials, to support programs for children and adults and to fund staff development.
The sale will be held in the Community Meeting Room on the first floor of the Library, 65 Witherspoon St., opening with a Preview Sale, Friday, Oct. 20, from noon to 2 p.m., free to members of the Friends, with non-members charged $5. Numbered admission tickets will be available outside the Meeting Room starting at 10 on Preview Sale Day.
From 2 to 5:30 on Friday and for the remainder of the sale, there is no admission charge. Hours on Saturday, Oct. 21, are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Annual Half Price Sale will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22, from 1 to 5:30.
Donations of books in good condition are always welcome, except for textbooks, outdated travel and computer guides, magazines, encyclopedias and condensed books. Donors should ring the bell at the library deliveries entrance, accessible from the Wiggins Street driveway. For large donations, arrangements must be made in advance by phoning (609) 924-9529, ext. 280. In special cases, books can be picked up at the donor’s home.
