The Princeton Public Library will host an event at 7 p.m. Wednesday with representatives from Princeton University and Rutgers Preparatory Academy to give advice to students beginning the college admissions process.
The event with Jill Lauck, an associate director of admissions at Princeton University, and Shelley Krause, co-director of college counseling at Rutgers Prep is designed to guide students through the essay writing process, Susan Conlon, teen services librarian said.
Students and parents can expect to get advice and their questions answered, Ms. Conlon said, specifically on the college essay.
"Having gone through this process interacting both with students at the library and with my own teenagers, I wanted to try to provide a positive approach and hopefully relieve some of the anxiety that students feel in presenting themselves through an essay," Ms. Conlon stated in a press release.
Registering before Wednesday’s event is encouraged at the third-floor youth services desk or by calling (609) 924-9529, ext. 240. The event is free and open to the public.
