Kohl’s to open in East Windsor
East Windsor Mayor Janice S. Mironov announced that Kohl’s plans to open a new department store in the township on Route 130 North and Hickory Corner Road. The new story will total 105,744 square feet and will employ about 200 people. It is expected to open in the fall of 2007.
Mayor Mironov also announced that two information technology companies, San Mateo, Ca.-based Epocrates and New York City-based Paradigm Technology Consulting, are opening offices in East Windsor at Windsor Corporate Park located at Old Trenton and Millstone Roads.
Lawrence gives economic awards
Lawrence Township’s Growth and Redevelopment Committee announced the recipients of its 2006 economic development awards. Among the award winners are Ramco Systems, which won the New Large Business Award for its success as a new Lawrence business; The Perfect Dress, winning the New Small Business Award for commitment to the community and success as a new small business; Gelato’s, winning New Building/Renovation Award for renovation of its Princeton Pike location; and Cold Stone Creamery, winning the Business Service Award for ongoing fundraising and contributions to Lawrence community organizations.
Billtrust gains $4M investment
Edison Venture Fund in Lawrenceville announced the completion of a $4 million investment in Billtrust of Washington Township. Edison is the sole institutional investor in this outsourced billing solutions provider. Billtrust provides both paper and electronic billing and payment solutions.
Non-profit signs lease in W. Windsor
Ithaka Harbors, Inc., a not-for-profit support services outsourcing firm, has signed a long-term lease for 18,337 square feet of office space at 100 Campus Drive in West Windsor. Ithaka is a not-for-profit organization based in New York City that provides outsourced finance, human resources, information technology and software development services for other not-for-profit groups. Its mission is to accelerate the productive uses of information technologies for the benefit of higher education around the world. Ithaka also serves as an incubator for new non-profit initiatives.
KSS selected for redesign
BPG Properties Ltd. selected Princeton-based KSS Architects to redesign their recently acquired four-story 128,000-square-foot office building located at 301 Carnegie Center in West Windsor. The goal was to modify the building, originally designed as a single-occupant corporate headquarters, to be suitable for lease to multi-tenants while enhancing the public areas. The renovation included a complete redesign of the main lobby, upper elevator lobbies, elevator cabs, toilet rooms, a fitness center, and a café.
PR firm wins ‘Jasper’ awards
Oxford Communications in Lambertville, a full-service advertising, public relations and graphic design firm captured 12 "Jasper" awards presented by the Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association. Established in 1974, the Jasper awards honor excellence in communications. Oxford received recognition for its work on a wide range of clients including Maxwell Place in Hoboken, Trenton Film Festival, Mandalay on the Hudson, Nabi Biopharmaceuticals, 1401 Walnut Street, Prime Retail and Rita’s Water Ice Franchise Company LLC.
New salon opens in Princeton
Heather Rizzo has opened Heather Lynn Salon at 842 State Road in Princeton. Ms. Rizzo purchased an existing salon at the same location. Heather Lynn Salon will offer women’s and men’s haircuts, color services, accent and highlights, formal hair, bridal packages, conditional therapy and glossing.
Firm adds to event services
JR Associates, a Princeton-based conference planning company operated by Janet Pickover, is launching a new service to help companies and associations find the right venue for meetings, conventions and special events. The service, Site Inspections Plus, will provide an in-depth inspection of the hotels and facilities under consideration. Site Inspections Plus also offers a review of the client’s contract with the facility.
Glass franchise opens shop
A Glass Doctor franchise serving Mercer County, owned and operated by Alina Nydia Gutierrez, has opened at 1685 Nottingham Way, Hamilton. Glass Doctor provides automotive, residential and commercial mobile and in-shop glass installations. Ms. Gutierrez, 26, is a former soldier with the National Guard, serving in Iraq for 14 months as a sergeant.
HVCB opens Ewing branch
Hopewell Valley Community Bank has opened its sixth Mercer County branch. The new branch is located at 180 Scotch Road in the Glen Roc Shopping Center in Ewing.
Acupuncture practice moves
Dr. John R. Hamada, certified acupuncturist and chiropractic physician, has moved his practice, Acupuncture & Chiropractic Healing Arts, from Trenton to 2405 Pennington Road in Pennington.
