HUMAN RESOURCES
Management consultant Angela Deitch is the recipient of this year’s Human Resource Management Association’s 2006 Distinguished Member Exceptional Chapter Service Award. HRMA is the Princeton chapter of SHRM, the Society for Human Resource Management, and is the leading voice of the human resource profession. The award for exemplary service goes to a member that has served not only the chapter and it’s members in an outstanding and professional manner, but has strengthened and enhanced the operation of the HRMA as it carries out its mission. Ms. Deitch has served on the board of the HRMA for over 10 years in various leadership roles, most recently as board secretary.
Angela Deitch Consulting, based in West Trenton, specializes in onsite and online programs on sexual and other forms of harassment, management effectiveness programs, and critical thinking.
REAL ESTATE
Baiyu "Bayou" Pan, a sales associate with Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc.’s West Windsor office, has earned the Broker Associate title. Ms. Pan holds a degree from Emory University. Originally from Atlanta, Ga., she currently resides in the greater Princeton area with her husband Ken and Golden retriever Lear.
BUSINESS COUNCIL
The Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced the honorees to be recognized at its annual Business Leadership Awards Gala to be held on Nov. 29, at the Tournament Players Club at Jasna Polana in Princeton.
J. Robert Hillier, FAIA, founder and chairman of the board of Hillier Architecture, is recognized as the 2006 Innovator of the Year. Mr. Hillier has built the practice he started 40 years ago into a successful international design firm with 350 people, $70 million in annual fees and offices in Princeton, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Shanghai and Dubai.
Mika Ryan, chair of the Mercer Sports Organizing Committee has been named the 2006 Leader of the Year.
Melissa Tenzer, president of CareersUSA, is honored as the Chamber’s 2006 Entrepreneur of the Year. She has been with CareersUSA, a national staffing agency, for more than 11 years and opened her own branch five years ago.
The American Nursery & Landscape Association (ANLA) members in New Jersey have elected Steven J. Doerler of Lawrence as their state senator. ANLA senators represent members in their state during the association’s annual meeting, reviewing critical issues such as the annual budget and ANLA Board member elections.
The owner of Doerler Landscapes Inc., a full service landscape architectural and contracting firm, Mr. Doerler is active in the community at large and has most recently served as president of the New Jersey Nursery and Landscape Association.
BANKING
Susquehanna Patriot Bank, based in Marlton, has hired Carol Budd as senior vice president, commercial real estate lending and market manager for New Jersey. Ms. Budd formerly worked as vice president, commercial lending officer at Yardville National Bank. She has worked in the financial services industry for 30 years and has also previously held lending positions at CoreStates Bank, NA and United Jersey Bank.
Ms. Budd graduated from Mercer County Community College with an associate’s degree in business administration. She lives in Columbus and is involved with volunteer work with the Rotary Club of Hamilton Township.
MARKETING
Marketing services provider Princeton Partners has promoted Melissa Butensky to account supervisor, leading its interactive group. She originally joined the agency as a project manager more than three years ago.
Additional new hires in this division are Sladin Nan as an assistant project manager and Gerald Angelo as a production associate, responsible for Web site construction and maintenance as well as research into new Web technologies and techniques.
NONPROFIT
Sherise D. Ritter, CPA, a principal in the Hamilton accounting firm of Mercadien, P.C., certified public accountants and managing director of The Mercadien Group, was selected to represent New Jersey at the Nonprofit Congress National Meeting, to be held Oct. 16 and 17 in Washington, D.C. The Nonprofit Congress is the national movement to build a diverse network of local leaders to identify and address the challenges that all nonprofits face in meeting and advocating for community needs.
A member of Mercadien’s nonprofit services group, Ms. Ritter has expertise in the performance of audits, reviews and compilations of closely-held companies and nonprofit organizations. She also has experience in tax planning and preparation for individuals, various types of business entities, and estates and trusts, as well as experience with the tax exemption determination process for nonprofit organizations.
She focuses on business planning and consulting for both profit and nonprofit entities in areas such as budgeting, cash flow management, accounting systems design, tax minimization, tax collection, and multi-state taxation.
Ms. Ritter is a member of the New Jersey Society of Association Executives and is involved in other nonprofit and community organizations including the Mercer Chapter of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners, YWCA of Trenton, Hamilton Township Economic Development Advisory Commission, the executive committee of the Hamilton Division of the Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton Foundation, and Fund Development Committee for Peter Nero and the Philly Pops at St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center.
Ms. Ritter graduated from Rider University, is a licensed certified public accountant in both New York and New Jersey, and a member of the American Institute and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. She resides in Hamilton.
LAW
Frank Palmieri, of Palmieri & Eisenberg in Princeton, has been inducted as a fellow into the American College of Employee Benefits Attorneys. Admittance into the college is limited to individuals who have practiced in the area of employee benefits for more than 20 years and have contributed to the employee benefits field in a significant manner through writing, speaking and educational activities. Mr. Palmieri is licensed to practice law in the states of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, is a certified public accountant, and holds a master’s in law in taxation. He is a frequent national lecturer and author on employee benefits topics.
FINANCIAL SERVICES
Angela Duffy has joined Amper Financial Services as marketing manager. She was a senior marketing coordinator with Amper, Politziner & Mattia. At Amper Financial Services she will oversee the expansion of the marketing culture within the group and create and implement the branding, advertising and promotion of Amper Financial Wealth Management, Corporate Benefits and Women in Transition niches.
