Virginia M. Luther
ROBBINSVILLE Virginia Manni Luther, 95, died Wednesday at her residence.
Born in Frosinone, Italy, she came to the U.S. with her family, at the age of 2, and settled in Monmouth Junction. Over the course of her life, she lived in Plainsboro, West Windsor and Lavallette, before moving to Robbinsville to live with her daughter in 1999.
Mrs. Luther was a homemaker, who enjoyed, gardening, baking and canning. She was proficient in the culinary arts, but most of all, enjoyed her family. Predeceased by her by her parents, Joseph and Nancy Manni, her husband Joseph A. Luther, in 1996, a brother, Nicholas Manni, and three sisters, Linda Ryan, Anne Castner and Mary Farley, she is survived by four daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy J. Luther, Linda L. Warren, Virginia L. Luther, and Joanne M. and Richard Roberts; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph A. III and Linda Luther; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and special family friend, William D. Parker.
The funeral was held Tuesday at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
Entombment followed in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Maria Salome Gonzales de Cruz
ROBBINSVILLE Maria Salome Gonzales de Cruz, 78, died Oct. 11 of heart disease in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Tenares, Dominican Republic, Mrs. Cruz moved to the United States in 1963, lived in Bronx, N.Y. for 42 years, and with her eldest daughter in Robbinsville since 2005.
She was a nurse-midwife and entrepreneur who, in the 1950’s, invented the visiting nurse service in the neighboring town on San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic. She was also a seamstress, and upon her retirement ran a successful cake baking service for local businesses.
Predeceased by her parents, Blanco Pantaleon and Mercedes Gonzalez, her sisters, Aura Maria Gonzales, Florencia Antonia Gonzalez, and her first husband, Jose Antonio Matos Breffet, she is survived by her daughters, Libertad Matos of Robbinsville and Patra M. Cruz-Ramos and her husband Rafael C. Ramos of Bronx, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Cesar L. Rodriguez-Matos of Wilmington, N.C., Alejandro J. Rodriguez-Matos of Calif.; Sara C. Rodriguez-Matos of Robbinsville, and Victor J. and Marcos J. Ramos of Bronx, N.Y.; a former son-in-law, Cesar Rodriguez; her former spouse, Eduardo A. Cruz; her sister, Maria, Lourdes, and Rafaela Tejada; her brothers, Miguel and Ramon Tejada; dozens of first cousins, nieces, nephews; hundreds of cousins; best friends, Dulce Astacio and Esther Jiminez and numerous other friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown.
Interment followed in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
Allen Wilmer Titus
HAMILTON Allen Wilmer (Bill) Titus, 92, died Oct. 11 in the Merwick Unit at the University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Pennington in 1914, Mr. Titus was a resident of Hamilton Square since 1959 and had previously resided in Titusville.
He retired from DeLaval Turbine in 1977 after 32 years of service. Prior to his service there, he worked as a blacksmith for Freihofer’s Bakery and Fisher-Norris Foundry Shop. He helped to start the Titusville First Aid Squad and was one of the founding members of the Capital Assembly of God Church.
After moving to Hamilton Square with his family, he became one of the original starting families of Faith Baptist Church. While at Faith Baptist, he was chairman of the building committee during the second phase of their building program. He was active in the Buckskin Roamers Camping Club and the Silver Square Senior Citizens Club, where he had served as a president.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Eva Titus; his brothers, Norman, Harold, Earl Kenneth, and Raymond; his sister Myrna Watson, his sons, Edward and Wayne (Teddy) and his grandson, Mike Snook. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane Eldridge Titus; his daughter, Dorothy Irwin of Castanea, Pa.; his son Harold of Trenton; his daughters, Marion Conway and her husband Dale of Robbinsville, and Elaine Vogt and her husband Ron of Greentown, Pa.; three stepdaughters, Susan Felska Harned and her husband George of Elizabethtown, Ky., Patricia Miller and her husband Robert of Old Bridge, and Teri Van Schoick of Princeton; a brother, John and his wife Lillian of Hendersonville, N.C.; his sisters-in-law, Polly Titus of Virginia and Florence Titus of Vineland; a special niece and nephew, Janet Van Dyke of Conshohocken Pa. and George (Billy) Titus of Vail, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Saturday at the Central Baptist Church, 2015 Pennington Road, Ewing, with a Celebration of Life service following.
Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.

John C. Hager
ROBBINSVILLE John C. Hager Jr., 50, died Oct. 10 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Staten Island, NY, Mr. Hager had been a longtime Mercer County area resident. He was a graduate of Hightstown High School and Rider University, and received his master’s degree in telecommunications from Stevens Institute of Technology.
He was formerly employed with ATT/Lucent Technologies and was currently employed with Eastern Research/Sycamore Networks. He received an invitation, because of his profession, to be included in the Who’s Who of New York. He was a manager and was active in the Hamilton Little Lads Basketball and Baseball, and Nottingham Babe Ruth Baseball Leagues.
He is survived by two daughters and a son, Amanda K., Abigail L., and Alexander M. Hager, all of Hamilton; his mother and stepfather, Sherry M. and Teddy Kottakhs; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Jose Arevalo of East Windsor; his brother, Joseph P. Hager of Pennsylvania; his favorite uncle, John O. Wall of Delaware; three nephews, Thomas O., Joseph P. Jr., and John T. Hager; and his loving partner, Sharon Hurley of Robbinsville.
The funeral service was held Saturday at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.

Dr. David B. Russell
ALLENTOWN Dr. David B. Russell, 68, died Sunday after a long illness.
Born in Saginaw, Mich., he received his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Michigan and obtained his doctorate in Polymer chemistry from the University of Akron. He was employed as a manager of International Strategic Planning at M&T Chemicals, later known as Atofina, retiring in 2000. During his career, he was a member of the American Chemical Society and was on the Board of the Organotin Environmental Program Association (ORTEP). Dr.
Russell held over 15 patents, both in the United States and internationally. He traveled extensively throughout his career and had friends around the world.
Son of the late James N. and Ruth Russell, he was predeceased by his brother James N. Russell Jr. and his sister Kathleen Russell Mayer. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kathleen Russell; two sons, David J. Russell of Germany and Christopher J. Russell of Mich.; three grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Kennedy of Avenel and Jean Russell of Mich.; two brothers-in-law, Tom Kennedy of Nev. and Ray Mayer of Mich.; as well as several nieces and nephews; and his dear friends, Charles Beiter and Al Lach.
Funeral service were held Wednesday at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Carol A. Allen
UPPER FREEHOLD Carol A. Allen died Sunday at Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia, after a courageous battle with illness.
She was a graduate of Ewing High School, the College of New Jersey and taught in the Ewing Township public schools. She was a cooperating teacher with the College of New Jersey and was honored as a Governor’s Recognition Teacher of the Year; and, received distinction as a BOLD teacher of the year. She is recognized in Who’s Who Among American Teachers. She was recently retired.
Daughter of the late Arthur S. Cimino, she is survived by her mother, Mary F. Cimino of Ewing; her husband, Charles P. Allen Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon M. Matthias and Dr. Michael D. Matthias of West Chester, Pa.; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles T. (CT) Allen and Kimberly Allen of Cream Ridge; and grandchildren, Jared Matthias, Alexa Matthias, Max Allen, Kyle Allen and Samantha Allen.
The funeral will be held 8:30 a.m. Thursday from the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Ave., Ewing.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. at Our Lady Of Good Counsel Church.
Burial will in Ewing Cemetery.

Edward V. Cuoghi
EAST WINDSOR Edward V. Cuoghi, 76, of East Windsor died Monday in Care One at Hamilton.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in East Windsor since 1967.
Mr. Cuoghi was an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran and retired from East Windsor School District. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hightstown and a member of Masonic Lodge #41 F & AM of Hillside, NY. Mr. Cuoghi was recently honored at the 25th Anniversary of the Hightstown/East Windsor Youth Baseball League as an original founder of the league. He was a coach with the Hightstown/East Windsor Pop Warner Football League for many years. He was an avid New York Mets and New York Giants fan.
Mr. Cuoghi is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan Cuoghi; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Louis and Donna Cuoghi of Middlesmithfield, Pa. and Lawrence Cuoghi of East Windsor; a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Ralph Krause of New Egypt; four grandchildren, Stephen and fiancée, Maria, Sean, Dustin and Kimberly Cuoghi; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Joanne Cuoghi of Arrington, Va.; a sister, Laraine Cuoghi of Hamilton and nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service was held during the evening visitation at Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, 136 Morrison Avenue, Hightstown, on Wednesday.
Visitation was also held Thursday at the funeral home with Graveside Services immediately following at Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
