Family thankful for support
To the editor:
A special thank you to all my family, friends, co-workers and all in the community.
I know this letter is long overdue, but honestly I just couldn’t get myself to put my thoughts down on paper until now.
Looking back, it was and still is overwhelming to me how much each and everyone of you offered of yourselves to support my family through this most difficult time. The words "thank you" just don’t seem enough.
To all who gave endlessly … the prepared dinners, cards, rides for the kids, countless donations to all the fundraisers, support for the blood drive given by Mike’s Fund (Ron Koes and Ray Walsh), Karen Matisak and all who helped out with the Cut-for the Cure and The Jeffery K. Perhach Memorial Foundation Golf Classic.
Special thanks to Paul and Ginny Malecki, Butch and Coleen Lockwood, Lisa Novack, and Frank Blandino who gave up a tremendous amount of their time to head the Chris Brisebois Medical Fund.
To Mary Mother of God Church, and Michael and Janine Riley from Hillsborough Funeral Home who so graciously helped arrange for Chris’s funeral services.
All these things have not gone unnoticed and will always be remembered and appreciated. It was truly a humbling experience to have seen the out-pouring of support that was given by my family and friends, and this great community I live in. Once again, "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
I know if Chris could, she would thank each and everyone of you individually and I’m sure in her special way she will.

GOP agenda targets workers
To the editor:
Recently, I read an article in the Star-Ledger about a staffer for Mike Ferguson’s campaign being caught stealing political signs from the Democratic candidates Linda Stender and Bob Menendez.
A spokesperson for Mr. Ferguson has stated, and I quote, "We do not steal signs, nor do we condone it."
Meanwhile, the person caught doing the dirty deed, suspiciously was driving a car with Texas license plates.
Two years ago, I was going to work at 4:30 one morning, driving down JFK Boulevard in Manville, and I drove up upon a car pulled over on the side of the road, and witnessed the person taking down Democratic lawn signs.
I’m sure it was the same person who had stolen mine from my own front yard three days earlier. But the thing that still sticks in my mind, is that that car had Texas plates, also.
What do you think is going on New Jersey? Why are people from Texas so interested in New Jersey politics? Maybe not. What would Fox News network say? Oh! I know they would say that the Democrats secretly changed the license plates on this poor guys car, that just wanted to keep New Jersey clean.
Now that’s a professional spin. Maybe I should apply for a job at Fox.
But, the fact of the matter is that these sign wars go on all the time, on both sides. But what scares me is that it is a great diversion from the facts. It’s a great Republican ploy to keep real issues off the map, and a lot of people buy into it.
What about the attack on the average, hard working, American families? Does anyone care to notice that Mike Ferguson voted for George Bush’s tax cut for the wealthy?
This is great! The Republicans look at it like this: Give the wealthy a huge tax break, overtax the middle class, because they won’t pay attention anyway, due to the fact that they are too busy arguing about yard signs, this, that, and all the other sidetrack issues.
Then, these wealthier people, will take the extra money they earn, and spread it around by creating more jobs (in China), and help us all out. Of course, that idea back fired, when they just took the money, and ran.
You know what I say? Give the money to the average hard working citizen. We are the majority, we spend more to boost some countries’ economies, and we keep the country going.
So, there you have it Seventh District residents some facts to go on. It’s all truth, you can go to the House, and Senate, and Congressional Web sites and check the voting out yourself.
Be sure to notice Mr. Ferguson’s vote a few years ago when he voted to give Vice President Dick Cheney’s home state more money for Homeland Security than he did for good old New Jersey.
And will one Republican official please try to at least act the part of Great American, and buy their T-shirts, and other propaganda, from an American company? Or is that the not so trendy thing to do?
