Louis Hanes

   Louis Hanes, 93, of Monroe Township, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, at University Medical Center at Princeton.
   Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a resident of Rossmoor since 1986. He formerly lived in the Jamaica section of Queens, N.Y., and Flemington. Mr. Hanes was a Navy veteran of World War II. He joined the New York Fire Department in 1937 and retired in 1973 from the 50th Battalion. He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Queens Village, N.Y., and a member of the Anchor Club of America, the Holy Name Society and the Disabled Veterans of America.
   His daughter, Barbara Scholz, is deceased. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Hanes; two grandchildren, Barbara Scholz and Jim Scholz; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Robachefski and Allison Vacha; two stepsons, Kenneth and Perry Vacha; and six step-grandchildren, Tara, Ryan, Jeffrey, Adam, Matthew and Jason Vacha.
   Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 16, from the A.S. Cole Son & Co. Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Cranbury, and were followed by a Funeral Mass at Nativity of Our Lord R.C. Church, 185 Applegarth Road, Monroe Township. Interment took place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing, N.Y.
