EDITOR’S JOURNAL (10/26/06)

Soon, we’ll take that 3 a.m. trip to White Castle

By: John Dunphy
We’ll keep this edition brief, folks. I hope everyone is doing quite well this October. I’ve been keeping busy with that vegetarian thing, which runs out Tuesday, Oct. 31.
Have I decided to start shoveling White Castles into my gullet as soon as the clock strikes midnight? No. First of all, that would be kind of gross (though I do enjoy some steamed meat-like goodness now and again). Second, this whole silly thing has taught me that, while I don’t necessarily need meat to sustain myself, I certainly don’t want to live without it. Variety is the spice of life, yadda, yadda. And so, it is, that I really would like some Chicken Madeira at Charlie Brown’s sometime in the future. It comes with asparagus. I love asparagus.
Until this topic goes cold, I will be posting updates online only, leaving this space for other topics. I hope my endeavor has inspired others to perhaps give something a go that they’ve thought about doing for a while, whether it’s something small or big. If not, I hope to have at least given everyone a chuckle. Enjoy your steaks.
