The candidates for mayor and Township Council will square off in a Monday evening event sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Princeton Area, which covers South Brunswick.
Residents will supply the questions for the candidates, and must be present at the debate, which will run from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Municipal Building, to have their question read by the moderator.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan grassroots political organization that was formed in 1920 to improve the American government. It works to influence policy through education and advocacy.
Running this year are: incumbent Democrat Mayor Frank Gambatese and Republican Lynda Woods Cleary for a four-year term for mayor and incumbent Democrat Chris Killmurray and Republican Nanette Craig for a four-year term on the council.
League member Anne Zeman said that residents will write down questions and a moderator will group them together and ask them.
