   John J. Connelly, 67, of Princeton, was charged with theft after a North Plainfield woman reported he took her checkbook at 3:19 p.m. Oct. 17.
   Police said the victim was getting out of her car and dropped her checkbook, and that Mr. Connelly picked it up and refused to give it back to the owner.
   According to police, Mr. Connelly went to the Manville Diner and dropped the checkbook in the garbage in the bathroom.
   Police said Mr. Connelly later admitted to taking the checkbook.
   He was transported to headquarters, processed and released.

A South 12th Avenue resident reported his son’s bicycle had been stolen out of their backyard at about 3:45 p.m. Oct. 18.
   Police said the bicycle was a silver Dyno NSX 20" with a flaming head sticker on the front. The owner was not able to provide a serial number.

Bound Brook resident Giorgi Bukhrashvili, 37, was charged with DWI, careless driving and driving without a license at 12:09 a.m. Oct. 20 while driving on North Main Street.
   Police said Mr. Bukhrashvili ran over construction cones placed for the repaving project on Main Street.
   He was given a summons and released.
