Milton Stoll, 93, of Monroe Village in Monroe, died Monday morning, Oct. 23, at his residence.
Born in Newark, Mr. Stoll resided in the Somerset section of Franklin before moving to Monroe. Mr. Stoll was employed as the traffic manager for Smith & Solomon Trucking Co. of New Brunswick for 42 years before retiring in 1975. Active in community affairs, Mr. Stoll was a past president of the Raritan Valley Traffic Club; past president of Delta Mu Alpha Society; the first president of the Franklin Township High School PTA; a member and former financial secretary for Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, New Brunswick; president of the Rossmoor Jewish Congregation; a former member of the Franklin Township Board of Education; and a board member of the Jewish Federation of Raritan Valley.
A 1968 graduate of Rutgers University, he served the university as an adjunct professor for many years. Mr. Stoll also taught at Somerset County College for several years. He was also a transportation expert practitioner before the Interstate Commerce Commission. He was also a former president of the Munitions Carriers Conference.
His beloved wife of 66 years, Harriet Levine Stoll, died in 2005. She is survived by his daughters, Sarabell Stoll of Plainsboro and Susan Schoenberg of Downers Grove, Ill.; his sister, Edna Andersen of Cedar Ring, Mich.; six grandchildren, Avram Isaacson and his wife, Rita, of Centerville, Va., Rachel Isaacson of Los Angeles, Samuel Isaacson of Cambridge, Mass., Bernard Isaacson of Plainsboro, Max Schoenberg of Oak Brook Terrace, Ill., and Samuel Schoenberg of Downers Grove, Ill.; and his great-granddaughter, Lexi Acar.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 23. Interment took place at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements were under the direction of the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick.
