Princeton man killed in Trenton shooting

   Charles Bennett, 25, a resident of Clay Street in Princeton Borough, was fatally shot near the Trenton Board of Education building Tuesday night, according to published reports.
   Mr. Bennett was shot by Peter Yaniquoi Klah, 30, of Ewing, according to Trenton police.
   Mr. Klah has been charged with homicide, weapons offenses and drug offenses and he was being held on $1 million bail.
   Police said Chadd Dillard, 24, of Trenton was an accomplice in the shooting and was being held on $100,000 bail on drug and weapons charges.
   Police were reported as saying that officers in a patrol car that happened to be nearby heard the shooting and subsequently followed Mr. Klah’s car, stopping it near the intersection of North Clinton Avenue and Monmouth Street.
   According to the reports, Mr. Bennett was shot four times in the chest and was pronounced dead on arrival at Capital Health System’s Fuld Campus.
   Mr. Bennett is survived by his fiancée, Tameka Walden-Johnson of Princeton, the mother of his two children, 5 and 1, according to the reports.
   Police said the motive for the shooting is unknown.
   Police heard the shots at 11:09 p.m. Tuesday, according to the published reports. At that time, Detective Matthew Przemieniecki and Officer Joseph D’Ambrosio of the Tactical Anti-Crime Unit followed the suspects in a pursuit. The suspects were arrested when Officer Samuel Gonzalez used his police car to block their escape route at Monmouth Street and Walnut Avenue.
