Richard T. Barrett Sr.

   Richard T. Barrett Sr. of Pennington died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital, Trenton.
   Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
   Mr. Barrett was the owner of Richard T. Barrett Paving in Trenton, a business he started 58 years ago. He was awarded the New Jersey Businessman of the Year of 2004.
   He was a graduate of Trenton Catholic High School and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
   Son of the late Charles and Helen Taylor Barrett, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary McGarrity Barrett of Pennington; three sons, two daughters and their spouses, Richard T. Jr. and Mary W. Barrett of Hartsville, Pa., Michael T. and Siobhan Barrett of Newtown, Pa., Eileen and the late Chad Barrett of Ewing, Barbara and Michael O’Brien of Bricktown, and Lisa and Stephen O’Neill of Ashland, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. James Church, 115 E. Delaware Ave., Pennington.
   Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing.
   Burial will be in Ewing Church Cemetery, Ewing.
