WithumSmith+Brown announced the following promotions in its West Windsor office.
Promoted from managers to senior managers are Lambertville resident Paul Kuhl and Matthew Pribila of Washington Township. Both are members of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Also promoted to senior manager is Hal Terr, a member of the firm’s tax department and a resident of Yardley, Pa.
Also announced is the promotion of Marie Del Cristo from senior accountant to manager. Ms. Del Cristo, a member of the AICPA, resides in Clarksburg.
KPMG LLP, the U.S. member firm of KPMG International, has admitted 134 new partners and principals nationwide for 2006. Locally, Jane H. Letts of the Lawrence office has been admitted into the partnership. Ms. Letts provides audit services to government, higher education and not-for-profit clients throughout the State of New Jersey. With the firm since 1993, she serves as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. She resides in Bordentown, with her husband and two children.
Hopewell Valley Community Bank has named Scott Birkner vice president of business development in Hunterdon County. A veteran banking manager, he brings a wealth of experience to the new position at executive and managerial levels. Mr. Birkner will be handling Small Business Association loans, agriculture loans, commercial term loans, construction loans and commercial lines of credit.

Ms. Patel’s practice focuses on all aspects of general litigation, including class action, multi-district, and arbitration matters. She is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and New York.

The law firm of Stark & Stark announced the addition of four new attorneys to their Lawrenceville office. Geoffrey McCarthy, Vishal Petigara, Frank Trosky and Joshua O’Melia have joined the firm as Associates.
Geoffrey A. McCarthy is an associate in the community associations group. Prior to joining Stark & Stark he was a judicial law clerk to Michael A. Petrolle, J.S.C. of the Chancery Division in Essex County, New Jersey. Mr. McCarthy also assisted with the Civil Litigation Clinic and Housing and Homelessness Clinic in the Center for Social Justice at Seton Hall University School of Law. Mr. McCarthy is a resident of Yardley, Pennsylvania.
Vishal Petigara is an associate with the business and corporate law group where he concentrates his practice in the representation of growing as well as established business firms and financial institutions. Before joining Stark & Stark, Mr. Petigara was an associate with the Exton, Pa. office of Latsha Davis Yohe & McKenna, P.C. Mr. Petigara is a resident of West Windsor.
Frank Trosky is an associate in the workers’ compensation group. Before joining Stark & Stark Mr. Trosky was an assistant deputy public defender in the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender. Mr. Trosky is a resident of Phoenixville, Pa.
Joshua M. O’Melia is an associate in the securities practice through which he counsels financial service entities, including investment advisers, broker-dealers and hedge funds on formation, regulatory, compliance and liability issues. Prior to joining Stark & Stark, Mr. O’Melia was an investigating attorney for the Office of the New Jersey Attorney General, Bureau of Securities in Newark, New Jersey. Mr. O_Melia is a resident of Hackensack.

The Brokers Group, an IT and clinical trial staffing solutions firm, announced further expansion of the executive team with the addition of Joe Kelly. Previously with Kelly Vendor Management Solutions, a division of Kelly Services, he will focus on responding to vendor management requisitions, a growing area for the firm. Mr. Kelly’s previous experience in this area of staffing will enhance the firm’s service offerings to large organizations.
