Samuel E. Nini of Princeton died Friday at home.
   Born in Princeton, he was a lifelong Princeton resident.
   He was project manager at the state Department of the Treasury, where his main projects included the Richard J. Hughes Justice Complex, the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, and Newark, Camden and Trenton state prisons.
   Earlier, he established and ran his own business, S. E. Nini Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning.
   A graduate of Princeton High School, he attended Stevens Institute of Technology and Rutgers University, holding many licenses and certificates in the real estate and contracting fields.
   He was a former member of the Princeton Township Zoning Board of Adjustment, Princeton Board of Health, Princeton Regional Schools Long-Range Planning Committee, Princeton Borough and Princeton Township senior citizens center and Trenton Area Soup Kitchen Board of Trustees, where he helped manage the soup kitchen’s expansion.
   At 17, he enlisted in the New Jersey National Guard’s 114th Regimental Combat Team and served for 16 years.
   Son of the late Angelo and Jennie Rosso, brother of the late Rita, Alice and Peter, he is survived by his wife, Rose "Dede" Didonato Nini; sons and daughter-in-law Dr. Kevin and Robyn Nini of Princeton and Mitchell Nini of Hoboken; daughter Heidi Nini and Terry Viggiano of Lawrence; brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Doris Nini; brothers-in-law Leonard and Bud Didonato; grandchildren Christina and Olivia Nini and Evan, Samuel and Isabel Viggiano-Nini; nieces and nephews Dale and Brooks Didonato, Debra Massimo, Drew and Dawn Didonato, Ann and Mark Nini; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
   Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton.
   Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, 72½ Escher St., Trenton, NJ 08609, or the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, 237 North Harrison St., Princeton, NJ 08540.
Maywood M. Mach

HOUSTON — Maywood M. Morris Mach died Oct. 2 at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston after a two-year battle with lung cancer. She was 83.
   Born in Shreveport, La., she was a Princeton resident from 1955 to 1992.
   Mrs. Mach, known as Woodie, worked for Johnson & Johnson and had a long career at Educational Testing Service. Her work there included test development, program direction and directing the equal employment opportunity office.
   While she was growing up, her family moved frequently throughout the South and Southwest due to her father’s employment as a pipe liner. She graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport in 1940. She studied at Baylor University for one year and then attended Louisiana State University from 1941 until early 1944 with a concentration in journalism.
   She married Joseph Humphreys and worked to help put him through school, while also attending Drury University in Springfield, Mo. Their marriage ended in divorce.
   While attending Hartford Seminary in Connecticut, she met an instructor, Dr. Rudolf V. Mach, who would become her husband. They married in 1953 and spent the subsequent year in Berkeley, Calif., where he earned a master’s degree in library science in 1955. That same year he took a position at Princeton University as lecturer in Near Eastern Studies and as curator of the Garrett Collections of Near Eastern manuscripts in Firestone Library. He died in 1981.
   After her retirement from ETS in 1986, Mrs. Mach, who had traveled extensively throughout her life, lived for a year in Basel, Switzerland, before returning to Princeton.
   She moved to the Thornton Oaks Community in Brunswick, Maine, in 1992, then bought a home in Topsham, Maine, and in 2003 returned to her family at The Woodlands, Texas, north of Houston.
   She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, recommending and sending books to friends, talking politics and caring for her cat.
   Daughter of late Emma May Hartsell Morris and Lawrence H. Morris, sister of the late Lawrence Morris, she is survived by her sister, Noragene Hackney, and several nieces and nephews, including Laurie and Lynn Meredith, Wesley and Rhonda Hackney, Barry and Pam Hackney of Houston, Larry C. Morris of Dallas and Charles A. Morris of Houston; and sister-in-law Estela Morris of Houston.

Sue F. Behm

Princeton resident
   
Sue F. Behm of Princeton died Monday at Acorn Glen assisted living residence in Princeton. She was 89.
   Born in Elizabeth, she was a resident of Princeton for the past 10 years and previously lived in Elizabeth.
   Wife of the late Warren R. Behm, she is survived by her son, Jeff, of Montgomery.
   Calling hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Ave., Princeton.
