Sessions will allow residents and other concerned individuals the chance to meet one-on-one with health agencies
The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (NJDHSS) and the federal Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) are holding two availability sessions on the former Rockwell (Kooltronic) site in Hopewell Borough.
The availability sessions are scheduled for Nov. 8. The first will take place from 2-4 p.m. at Hopewell Borough Hall, second floor, 4 Columbia Ave. An evening session will be held from 7-9 p.m. in the cafeteria of Hopewell Elementary School, 35 Princeton Ave., Hopewell.
The purpose of an availability session is to allow residents and other concerned individuals the chance to meet one-on-one with the health agencies to discuss site exposures and related health concerns in a more private setting than a public meeting. In this way, the NJDHSS and ATSDR can learn how and when people may have been in contact with site-related contaminants, and better address health issues in the Public Health Assessment that is being developed for the site.
For more information, or if you have concerns but are unable to attend, call Sharon L. Kubiak, Hazardous Site Health Evaluation Program, (609) 594-5367.
