YWCA slates Crafters’ Marketplace Nov. 18 and 19

The 33rd annual YWCA Princeton’s Crafters’ Marketplace will be returning to a popular location, presenting a new Patrons’ Preview Party and offering more crafters featuring more wares than ever before, organizers say.
Crafters’ Marketplace will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 18 and 19, at John Witherspoon Middle School on Walnut Lane in Princeton. It will open at 10 a.m. both days, closing at 5 p.m. on Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
More than 140 top artisans from the Northeast will display original hand-made jewelry, pottery, clothing and many, many other holiday gift items.
Admission is still only $6 a day or $10 for a two-day pass; $5 for those shoppers under 16 and seniors, and free for kids under 6. Strollers will not be allowed, however, by order of the fire marshal. The entire building is handicapped-accessible.
New this year is the Patrons’ Preview Party, a cocktail party taking place Thursday, Nov. 16, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the designer showroom at Miele, Inc., located at 9 Independence Way on Route 1 North, South Brunswick, just south of Ridge Road.
Several stations will feature savories and desserts, and hors d’oeuvres will be passed — all created by renowned chef Bobby Trigg, chef/owner of Princeton’s Ferry House restaurant and The BT20 at the Peacock Inn (coming soon). He also will offer a cooking demonstration in a state-of-the-art Miele kitchen. Guests will be able to order copies of The Ferry House Cookbook, due in bookstores at the beginning of December.
Patrons are eligible to attend the Patrons’ Party with a guest. Tickets are $75. They will be admitted to the marketplace both days for free, and will receive a complimentary lunch at the Café in the Marketplace. Those wishing to receive a party invitation should call (609) 497-2100, ext. 333.
All proceeds from the Patrons’ Party and Crafters’ Marketplace benefit the YWCA Princeton and its Bates Scholarship program, which enables economically disadvantaged community members to participate in YWCA programs.
