LCA girls’ soccer team repeats Penn-Jersey title

Two minutes into the Life Center Academy girls’ varsity soccer team’s Penn-Jersey Championship match-up versus Saint Mary’s Hall, Ashley Nyul established her dominance as a player by dribbling the ball right up the middle of the field and scoring an easy goal.
It would be the first of three goals for Nyul, a 100 plus goal-scorer at LCA, whose Warriors pounded Saint Mary’s 4-1 to win their fourth Penn-Jersey title in a row. Nyul’s second goal, which she tallied in the 30th minute of the first half, was just as sweet.
"Ashley Nyul drilled a header into the goal off a corner kick by Chloe Bercaw," added Tammy Nowicki, the Warriors long-time head coach.
While LCA had a comfortable 2-0 lead at the half, Nyul put the game out of reach when she redirected a corner kick by Bercaw into the net early in the second half. A few minutes later, Bercaw scored an insurance goal on a breakaway.
Saint Mary’s scored a second-half goal, but the game was long over by then. Once again, LCA dominated all of its Penn-Jersey opponents and went undefeated in the league. Nowicki is just a great soccer coach.
