   At 8:07 p.m. on Oct. 30 James Kovalchik, 33, of North 17th Avenue was charged with DWI on South Eighth Avenue.
   Police said Mr. Kovalchik was originally stopped for failure to maintain a lane and careless driving. He was also charged with failure to produce documents.

A bicycle was reported stolen from the side of Wal-Mart on North Main Street between 2 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 31.
   Police said the bicycle was a "stunt bike," with a black frame and red lettering. It also had a red, black and gray seat and silver pegs. A "protected by viper" sticker was on the handle-bars.
   No estimate of the bike’s value was provided.

Dennis Barnes, 42, of Newark, was charged with driving while suspended and possession of drug paraphernalia on Dukes Parkway.
   Police said Mr. Barnes was in possession of a small empty plastic brandy bottle with a hole in the center and burn marks on the side typically used to smoke marijuana or crack.
   He was transported to headquarters, processed and released. He also posted the $1,000 for a warrant out of Elizabeth.

David Camacho, 19, of Bridgewater, was charged with simple assault at 10:14 p.m. on Nov. 3 after he allegedly punched a South 13th Avenue resident.
   Police said Mr. Camacho was intoxicated and went to the South 13th Avenue residence where an acquaintance lives. Mr. Camacho wanted to fight and eventually punched the resident in the head causing a laceration, according to police. The victim refused medical attention.

Bridgewater residents Lauren Damone, 19, and Jessica Torres, 20, were charged with possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and possession of alcohol as a minor on South Main Street at 1:06 a.m. on Nov. 5.
   Police said they were stopped for speeding and were in possession of a bottle of whiskey.

West Frech Avenue resident Steven Zazenskowski, 22, was charged with DWI on Louis Street at 2 a.m. Nov. 6.
   Police said he was stopped because the vehicle he was driving did not have a current registration.
   He was transported to headquarters, processed and released.
