Free tutoring
Thursday, Nov. 16 Mt. Zion AME Church at 36 E. Burlington St., Bordentown, is offering homework and tutorial assistance for children in pre-K to 12th grade. Assistance is available on Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. until May 2007.

Tot Shabbat
Friday, Nov. 17 Tot Shabbat service will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Temple B’Nai Abraham of Bordentown, 58 Crosswicks St. It is open to all children, ages 1 to 6, and their families. Christmas bazaar
Friday, Nov. 17 Trinity United Methodist Church will hold its annual Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The bazaar features crafts, dishcloths, kitchen towels, beaded banners, cake table, homemade candy, gourmet food and a "this and that" room. Santa will be available for photos on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A soup and sandwich luncheon will be held Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and a buffet-style ham dinner will be held Saturday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are $11 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 12, and $12 for take-out orders. Children under 5 eat free.
The Trinity’s Treasures rooms will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday and Saturday on the second floor.

Story campfire
Friday, Nov. 17 Fernbrook Farms will hold a story campfire at 7 p.m. at its education center, 150 Georgetown Road, Bordentown. There will be a guided tour of the farm learning about its history, the history of agriculture and its people. Admission is $5 per person. Registration is required. Holiday fair
Saturday, Nov. 18 Crafters are needed for a holiday craft show and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Mary’s School, 30 Elizabeth St., Bordentown City. The craft show, sponsored by Friends of St. Mary’s School, will also feature beautiful basket and vacation raffles. Basket bingo
Saturday, Nov. 18 The Jacobstown Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold its third annual basket bingo at the firehouse on Route 528. Sandwich sale

Fall orienteering
Saturday, Nov. 18 An hour-long course teaching map and compass use will be held at the Fernbrook Farms Education Center, 150 Georgetown Road, Bordentown. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. This course is not recommended for children under the age of 4.

Monte Carlo Night
Saturday, Nov. 18 The Chesterfield Township Elementary School PTA is sponsoring a Monte Carlo Night at the Olde York Country Club from 7 to 11 p.m. There will be gambling tables, a silent auction, hold and cold hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and an array of beverages, with a cash bar available. The cost is $40 per person or $70 per couple.

Night at the USO
Saturday, Nov. 18 Brookdale Senior Living will host A Night at the USO from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Ramada Inn, 1083 RT 206 N., Bordentown. Proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association as they honor Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. Enjoy a buffet dinner, beer, wine, music, dancing and a silent auction.

Army Air Corps program
Sunday, Nov. 19 The Burlington County Historical Society will celebrate the achievements of Capt. Charles Breingan from 2 to 4 p.m. at the historical society’s complex, 454 Lawrence St., Burlington.
The program focuses on Capt. Breingan’s achievements, experiences in China, snapshots of the China theater and the return of the interviewer to the villages in China where airmen were downed.
All-you-can-eat breakfast
Sunday, Nov. 19 The Holy Assumption Parish’s Holy Name Society will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast at the church’s McGrath Hall, 1290 Hornberger Ave., Roebling, from 8 to 11 a.m. The cost of $5 for adults and $3 for children includes eggs, potatoes, pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. 50/50 raffle
Through Wednesday, Nov. 22 Florence Township Memorial High School Band Boosters is sponsoring a Super 50/50 Raffle. The donation is $5 and the winner will receive 50 percent of the proceeds. The drawing will be at 6 p.m. on Nov. 22 at the Thanksgiving pep rally at the Florence Township High School. The winner need not be present. Free breakfast for active military
Sunday, Nov. 26 The Willitts-Hogan-Tonne American Legion Post 39 on Fourth Avenue in Roebling will have its monthly Sunday breakfast. In honor of Veterans Day, all active military attending the breakfast will eat free of charge.
You must have your ID card. Serving starts at 8:30 a.m. and continues until 11:30 a.m.
All are welcome. The cost is $6 for an adult, $4 for children ages 5 to 12 and free to those under 5 years.
Packages for military
Sunday, Nov. 26 In support of military servicemen/women who are currently serving in the Middle East, the Peter Muschal Elementary School in Bordentown Township will be collecting donated items for shipment before the holidays.
PMS children, parents, staff and PTA members will be packaging the items in boxes for shipping at 6 p.m. in the Peter Muschal School Auditorium.

Thursday, Nov. 28 The Bordentown City Environmental Commission is sponsoring an Earth Talks Speaker Series: "Get To Know Your Local Environment!" at 7 p.m. at the Carslake Community Center. Flu shots

Friday, Dec. 1 The Bordentown Chapter 257, Order of the Eastern Star, is planning some upcoming activities. A silent/Chinese auction will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 at the Masonic Temple, 121 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown. A $10 donation will include 50 auction tickets. Saturday, Dec. 2 The Friends of St. Mary’s School will hold its next flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s School Hall and Yard, 30 Elizabeth St., Bordentown.
Inside tables are $10. Outside space is only $5. Come taste St. Mary’s famous tuna salad, egg salad sandwiches and hot dogs. A vast selection of articles is for sale from many vendors.

Casino trip
Sunday, Dec. 3 The Knights of Columbus No. 570 is sponsoring a trip to the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. The bus will leave at 4:30 p.m. from the St. Mary’s Church parking lot, Elizabeth St., Bordentown, for a four-hour long stay at the casino.
