Franklin Charles Raymond Sr., 64, of Monmouth Junction, died Saturday, Nov. 11, at his home.
Born in Uniontown, Pa., he moved to Goochland, Va., in 1958, where he lived for three years before moving to Ewing in 1961. He lived in Ewing for 20 years, moving to Columbus in 1981 and finally to Monmouth Junction in 1994.
He held a premium position as a paste maker for Delphi Energy and Management Systems, a division of General Motors, in New Brunswick for 43 years until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of International Union of Electrical Workers Local 416 in New Brunswick, American Legion Post 434 in Englishtown, and a past member of the Elks Lodge 324 in New Brunswick. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, and loved hunting, NASCAR racing and football.
His son, Franklin C. Raymond Jr., died in 1997. He is survived by his father, William F. Raymond of Verona, Va.; his mother, Gatha N. Raymond of Manakin, Va.; his fiancee, Sharon I. Kenia of Monmouth Junction; his daughter, Cynthia L. Raymond of Ewing; his brothers, Robert L. Raymond and his wife, Linda, of Maidens, Va., Barry L. Raymond of Maidens, Va., Ronald R. Raymond of Gum Springs, Va., and Roy R. of Gum Springs, Va.; and his sister, Lynetta R. Parrish and her husband, Gerald, of Richmond, Va. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Amber R., Ashley M., Franklin C. III, Amanda J., and Lenae Marie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
