Alphonso Michael LaPilusa

   Alphonso Michael LaPilusa, 86, of Pennington died Saturday at the Compassionate Care Hospice, Trenton.
   Born in Bayonne, he resided there until moving to the Lawrenceville-Pennington area 18 years ago.
   An MBA graduate of City College of New York, he retired from the NJ Department of Labor in 2001.
    During World War II, he served as a sergeant in the Guadalcanal and Bougainville campaigns while stationed in the South Pacific.
   Son of the late Agostino and Carmela Traina LaPilusa, brother of the late Salvatore LaPilusa, Louis Barclay and Mary Zumbano, he is survived by his wife, Joan LaPilusa; a sister, Victoria Gullie; a nephew, James Gullie; nieces, Mary Ann Hanlon, Virginia Mira and Delores Turner; many other nieces and nephews; a mother-in-law, Mary A. Matejik; three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Steve and Frances Matejik, Francis and Sherry Matejik, Edward Matejik and Lillian Barber.
   Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, Pennington Circle,
   Burial will be in the William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Park, Wrightstown.
   Friends may call Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
