NJ Transit has slated a number of extra trains for the holiday season.
On Wednesday, special "early getaway" rail service is slated from New York’s Penn Station for commuters returning to the Princeton area between noon and 5 p.m.
Additional trains are scheduled Thanksgiving Day for those heading to and from Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and family get-togethers.
On Friday, NJ Transit will run additional New York-bound trains between 10 a.m. and noon on the Northeast Corridor for Black Friday shoppers as well as "early getaway" trains from Penn Station in New York.
The transit agency is also operating four Holiday Express trains between Trenton and New York in each direction every weekend through Jan. 13, except holidays. These trains will depart Princeton Junction for New York at 8:33 a.m., 9:33 a.m., 10:33 a.m. and 11:33 a.m.
NJ Transit’s Family Super Saver Fare, which enables up to two children from 5 to 11 years old to travel free with each fare-paying adult, will be in effect from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Monday. Children under 5 ride free at all times. On other weekends, the family fare is offered from 7 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday.
Special discounts of $10 for tickets to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and performances of Dr. Seuss’ "How The Grinch Stole Christmas: The Musical" are available through NJ Transit.
