Fall Ball III keeps the ball rolling

Foundation makes $35,000

The third annual Fall Ball held on Friday yielded $35,000 for the Recreation Foundation of Hopewell Valley.
A capacity crowd at Amalfi’s Cuisine bid on 100 Silent Auction items, including sports tickets and memorabilia, theater tickets, spa treatments and other recreational items.
Dinner and dancing to The Maggi Hill Band was followed by a Live Auction with former Hopewell Township Mayor Fran Bartlett and Patty Arhountoulis as auctioneers. Vacation weekends, Disney passes, a wine tasting, and a gourmet dinner served in the high bidder’s home by the school board were among the hot auction items.
A Super 50/50 drawing was held at the end of the evening with first prize going to Mark Hartel, president of Hopewell Valley Baseball and Softball Association. Second prize went to Paul Passolino and third to Jean Crowell, owner of Failte Coffeehouse in Hopewell Borough.
The Recreation Foundation is committed to raising $200,000 for three multiuse fields at the Athletic Fields at Timberlane.
Community members interested in learning more about the Foundation or making a donation to the project should call Foundation trustees, Ms. Stone at 737-7862, or Kim Bruno at 737-0918.
