No charges are filed in pedestrian accident that left an elderly woman in critical condition

PLAINSBORO A 3-year-old boy was killed and a senior citizen critically injured after they were struck by a car on George Davison Road on Tuesday.
According to township police reports, Tatyana Yaroslavskaya, 60, of Thoreau Drive was pushing Andre Pankratov, 3, of Ashford Drive across George Davison Road in a stroller at 5:22 p.m. The two were headed for Ashford Drive.
Paul N. Carrola, 39, of Basking Ridge said he saw the two pedestrians but was unable to stop his vehicle and struck them, according to police.
Responding officers began treating the pedestrians immediately, and additional assistance came from the Plainsboro Township Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
The victims were airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick and, at 10:55 p.m., Andre was pronounced dead.
Ms. Yaroslavskaya remains in critical condition.
George Davison Road does not contain a crosswalk where it intersects with Plainsboro Road and the lighting is poor. According to police, Ms. Yaroslavskaya was wearing a dark brown jacket.
The case is still under investigation, and charges have not yet been filed. The road remained closed until 9:20 p.m. Tuesday while an on-scene investigation took place.
