The Rotary Club of the Princeton Corridor has collected and donated a van full of products headed for Iraq. The project was headed up by Rotary member Florence Cohen and delivered to Operation Shoebox by Ms. Cohen and her husband, Harvey.
The effort provides U.S. military personnel with items that not only are helpful, but familiar from home. The club’s 50 members donated sunscreen, insect repellant, lip balm, batteries, cold medicine, Tylenol, Band-Aids, eye drops, foot powder, dry drink mixes, canned tuna, crackers, lunch packages, beef jerky and Slim Jims.
"Regardless of politics," Ms. Cohen said, "supporting our troops in this way shows them we care and we appreciate the personal sacrifice they are making."
