Flu shots
Thursday, Nov. 30 A flu clinic will be held at the Rutgers Eco-Complex, 1200 Florence-Columbus Road, Mansfield, from 9 a.m. to noon. Flu shots are offered to senior citizens and chronically ill adult residents and pneumonia shots are available to those over 65. Friday, Dec. 1 The Bordentown Chapter 257, Order of the Eastern Star, is planning some upcoming activities:

Auction and gift table
Friday, Dec. 1 Jacksonville Presbyterian Church will host a community auction at 7:30 p.m., at the Jacksonville Community Center to raise money for the youth group’s mission trip to central Appalachia this coming summer. Admission is free and dessert will be served. Items to be auctioned include crafts of all kinds, holiday decorations, homemade foodstuffs and much, much more.
"A Greater Gift" table will feature handcrafted items from around the world including jewelry, pottery, sculptures, clothing, baskets and food. The "A Greater Gift" program is part of SERRV International. SERRV helps poor families in low-income countries.

Flea market
Saturday, Dec. 2 The Friends of St. Mary’s School will hold its next flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s School Hall and Yard, 30 Elizabeth St., Bordentown.
Inside tables are $10. Outside space is only $5. Come taste St. Mary’s famous tuna salad, egg salad sandwiches and hot dogs. A vast selection of articles is for sale from many vendors.

Art show and book signing
Saturday, Dec. 2 and Sunday, Dec. 10 Gennady Spirin will be showcased from Dec. 2 through Jan. 5 at The Artful Deposit Gallery, 201 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown. Original artwork, limited edition books, and prints of the newly-released "The Night Before Christmas" will be on display. Two book signings and artist appearances will be held on the above dates from 1 to 4 p.m. The gallery is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m., and Fridays from 1 to 9 p.m. Appointments are encouraged. Casino trip
Sunday, Dec. 3 The Knights of Columbus No. 570 is sponsoring a trip to the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. The bus will leave at 4:30 p.m. from the St. Mary’s Church parking lot, Elizabeth St., Bordentown, for a four-hour long stay at the casino. Auditions
Wednesday, Dec. 5 and Thursday, Dec. 6 The Bordentown Community Players is holding auditions for Paul Rudnick’s "I Hate Hamlet" at 7 p.m. in the old auditorium at Rancocas Valley Regional High School, in the old auditorium (under the clock tower), 520 Jacksonville Road, Mount Holly. The cast needs two men between ages 20 and 30, a man to play John Barrymore at age 60, one woman in her late 20s, one in her late 30s to 40s, and one woman about 70 years old.

Poinsettia and wreath sale
Thursday, Dec. 7 to Saturday, Dec. 9 Consolidated Fire Association, Crosswicks Street, will be having a poinsettia and wreath sale. Christmas spectacular
Saturday, Dec. 9 The Fountain of Life Center, 2035 Columbus Road, Florence, will hold its annual presentation of "A Christmas Spectacular" at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec. 9, 8 p.m. on Dec. 15, 1 and 7 p.m. on Dec. 16, 2 and 7 p.m. on Dec. 17 and 8 p.m. on Dec. 18.
Dancing toys "come alive," marching toy soldiers, the nativity story, and music, drama, and spectacular set designs make this event enjoyable for the whole family.

Holiday Bazaar
Saturday, Dec. 9 The PTA of the Florence Township Elementary Schools will hold a Holiday Bazaar and Make-A-Gift from 9 a.m. to noon at the school. Kids can have fun making gifts for their family and friends while you come shopping for your holiday gifts. The guaranteed snow date is Dec. 16.

Christmas house tour
Sunday, Dec. 10 The Roebling Historical Society will hold its Historic Village of Roebling Christmas House Tour from 3 to 7 p.m. The tour will feature homes built by John A. Roebling’s Sons Co. Tickets are $12 or $10 in advance. A limited number of guided tour tickets are available for $18 and must be purchased in advance.

FurBall Cocktail Party
Saturday, Dec. 16 The Burlington County Animal Alliance of NJ will host the 2006 FurBall Cocktail Party from 6 p.m. to midnight at Washington Hall in Bristol, Pa.
Cocktails, Hors d’oeuvres, beverages and dessert will be served all night, along with music. The ticket, which costs $30, will give you a free chance at winning one of the many beautiful door prizes. We will also have other items available for purchase.
Tickets can be purchased until Friday, Dec. 8. All proceeds go to BCCA, a non-profit organization benefiting the homeless animals in the state and surrounding areas.
