Accident shows
community’s spirit
To the editor:
My son, Jonathan Miller, was in the ARC van Nov. 21 when it hit the telephone pole and turned over. I received a call at work concerning the accident, as did my husband, and we had to rush home. Obviously we were very concerned and upset. I am more than 30 minutes away in Bordentown.
I want to thank everyone in the community who helped my son and the other riders on the van. These individuals are limited in their communications abilities and their self-help skills. I was very happy to hear that neighbors and professionals in the area came to the accident scene and assisted. The outcome could have been very different if everyone hadn’t worked together with the police and ambulance squad to keep everyone out of further danger.
My husband and I are very grateful for everyone’s help, professional and nonprofessional, as well.
Our son suffered a mild abrasion and bump on his chin. He is anxiously awaiting relatives’ arrival including his new nephew for the holidays, at home.
Thanks to everyone! Have a happy, safe and healthy holiday.

Holiday thanks

To the editor:
Both Jeanne Wert and I want to thank all of you who helped us in one way or another with our Thanksgiving holiday program. We were able to give township residents in need a large variety of food, as well as a turkey for Thanksgiving. We helped 123 families and Scott Newman delivered 10 meals to families with donations/assistance from Wegmans market in Princeton. This is the largest amount to date.
This is a community I can say we are so very proud to live in and be a part of. Anytime there is a need, you answer. Word went out that we did not have enough turkeys or "holiday-type" foods two weeks before Thanksgiving, and by the following week we had more than enough, as well as many Stop & Shop gift cards.
Not needing to name names, you know who you are and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are so touched that in economic times such as we live in, people are still able to give to those less fortunate.
We want to thank all of the South Brunswick Boy Scouts who held another successful food drive the first weekend in November. The date was moved up to enable us to pack and prepare all of the food baskets. A special thanks to Frank Gramieri, because without his help, this project would not be what it is today. We also want to thank Scott Williams and Troop 10 for his coordination efforts in helping sort all the food the weekend of collections.
We have a busy three weeks ahead of us, but I know we can count on all the wonderful volunteers who come and helped us sort and pack the food boxes. We don’t know what we would do without you all.
Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
