Michael Carlo
Michael D. Carlo, of Lawrence, died Tuesday at home. He was 67.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Hamilton Township before moving to Lawrence seven years ago.
Mr. Carlo was a retired vendor from the Columbus Farmer’s Market, in Columbus.
Son of the late John and Fanny DeVincentis Carlo, father of the late Cheryl Carlo, he is survived by his wife Patricia Holden Mento Carlo, daughter Michele Hajko and her husband, Peter and three grandchildren, Alex, Ryan and Jake Hajko. Also surviving are a sister, Rose Marie Garland; two nieces, Patricia Fatatis and husband Joseph, and Linda Maughan and husband Bill; and two great nieces, Amber and Ashley Maughan.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road. Burial will be in Ewing Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Fabian Markiewicz
Fabian Markiewicz died Nov. 23 at the Royal Healthgate Care Center, Trenton. He was 90.
Born in Nacza, Poland, Mr. Markiewicz came to the U.S. in 1951 and was a Trenton area resident since.
He retired in 1979 after 15 years employed with the DeLaval Turbine Manufacturing in Hamilton Township and was previously employed with Kramer Refrigeration.
Mr. Markiewicz was a soldier in the Polish Army and during the German September 1939 campaign, he was taken prisoner. He spent five years as a prisoner of war in a northern German detention camp. When he was liberated by the British forces, he volunteered and rejoined the Polish Army and served under the British Army command. He was very active in the Polish-American community in Trenton and throughout New Jersey. Mr. Markiewicz was a member of the Polish Army Veterans, Trenton post 81, as well as the OGNIWO organization, the Polish Falcons, Nest 59, and the Trenton Polish-American Democratic Club.
He sang in the St. Hedwig’s Men’s Choir for over 25 years. He was available in his service during the Polish children’s Heart Lift to Deborah, where they received life saving heart surgery. He was instrumental in assisting the Polish families with his translation services, bringing gifts to the children and making daily visits to keep the children’s spirits uplifted. Additionally, he was involved with the Polish doctors, who came to learn and practice heart surgery from the Deborah doctors, returning to Poland with new skills.
Son of the late Jan and Franciszka Malkiewicz Markiewicz, husband of the late Pela Majchur Markiewicz, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Halina and Winicjusz Lysik, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his extended family in Poland and many friends in Trenton.
The funeral was held Tuesday at Winowicz Funeral Chapel, Treton. Burial was in St. Hedwig’s cemetery, Ewing Township.

Sherri Dickerson
Sherri L. Dickerson died Nov. 22 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center. She was 43.
Born in Trenton and a lifelong Trenton and Lawrence resident, she was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Wilfred Academy and The Harrison Career Institute.
Ms. Dickerson was a healthcare provider and former employee of Trane Co. She was a charter member of Lady Janielle 219 Order of the Eastern Star IFAM Mason.
She was predeceased by her father, Douglas R. Dickerson Sr.; two brothers, Jared and Erik Dickerson; her maternal grandparents, Moses and Louise Underwood and her paternal grandparents, Blanchard and Isabell Dickerson.
Surviving are her daughter, Janielle Dickerson; sons Jared Dickerson and Erik Dickerson; mother Clara (Peg) Dickerson, of Lawrence; sisters Joan (Sissy) Pillot, of Baton Rouge, La.; Gail Dickerson and Lisa Dickerson, both of Lawrence; her brother and sister-in-law, William B. and Denise Dickerson, of Lawrence; her mother-in-law, Janie Johnson Bryant; a special brother-in-law, John Williams; her caregiver, Mrs. Harris; special friends Gloria Osegabore, Kirk Johnson and Howard Griffin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at First Missionary Baptist Church of Eggerts Crossing, 121 Hillcrest Ave., Lawrence, followed by burial in Ewing Cemetery. Calling hours are at 9 a.m. today at the church until the time of the funeral. Organizational service will take place at 10 a.m.
James Musto
FLORENCE James P. Musto, of Florence Township, and formerly of Lawrence, died Monday at Capital Health System’s Fuld Campus. He was 83.
Born in Yatesville, Pa., he resided in Lawrence for 56 years, and for the past five years in Florence.
Mr. Musto was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He retired in 1975 after 30 years from DeLaval Turbine, Hamilton Township, where he was a machinist and served as shop steward.
Mr. Musto was a 4th degree knight of the Bishop Griffin Assembly, and served as past treasurer and member of the Knights of Columbus, Lawrence Council 7000. He was a member of the Church of Saint Ann, and the American Legion Post 414, both of Lawrence. He was captain of the Top Road Tavern bocce team, co-captain of the Knights of Columbus bocce team, and was a former member of Saint James Church, Trenton, for over 50 years.
Son of the late Patrick and Caroline "Arleen" DeLuca Musto, husband of the late Isabel C. Varra Musto; brother of the late Charles and Anthony Musto, and Jenny Pasquarello; he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick J. and Toni Musto, of Lawrence; a daughter, Carol Ann Mancuso and her fiancée Ed Putnick, of Florence, with whom he resided; a brother, Frank Musto, of Pittston, Pa.; three grandchildren, Vincent Mancuso Jr. and Patrick and Tricia Musto; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dominick and Pati Varra, of Ewing; Mary Ann and John Petersack, of Yardville, and Marie Varra, of Hamilton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1 at the Brenna Funeral Home, 340 Hamilton Avenue, Trenton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the Church of Saint Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrence. Entombment with military honors will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery Veteran Mausoleum, Hamilton.
Calling hours will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight at the Brenna Funeral Home.
