Events scheduled from 6-9 p.m.
The 23rd annual Holiday Walk, sponsored by the Pennington Business & Professional Association, will take place Friday (Dec. 1) from 6-9 p.m.
A tree-lighting will kick off festivities at 6 p.m. at Howe Commons, 65 S. Main St., with music and free hot chocolate from Cup of Joe. Music will be provided by the Hopewell Valley Central High School Brass Band.
Santa Claus will arrive at the Sun National Bank, corner of Main and Delaware, at 6:30 p.m. Photo Haven will take free photos with Santa. Cider will be provided by the Pennington Quality Market.
A holiday dance performance, given by the Pennington Dance Company, will take place at 6:45 p.m. at the Pennington Presbyterian Church.
There will a "Taste of Pennington." See what Pennington’s restaurants and shops have to offer.
There will be holiday tales at the Pennington Library, 30 N. Main St., beginning at 7 p.m. Outside the library, Miss Linny will hold a special holiday story time in a hay-filled wagon.
The library also will hold a new book sale with over 700 selected titles, including children’s picture books, juvenile and young adult fiction and nonfiction, adult cookbooks, and decorating, home, gardening, and travel books. All books are discounted 10 percent off the list price. Cash and personal checks will be accepted.
At 7:30 p.m., there will be holiday music by DJ Mary Ann Fuccello.
Join the Hopewell Valley Girl Scouts for holiday caroling at the intersection of Main and Delaware at 7 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m.
As a continuation of a year-long relationship with the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK), the Pennington office of Gloria Nilson GMAC Real Estate will collect new and gently used hats, gloves and scarves to benefit the patrons of TASK during the Holiday Walk at the home of Emily Schwab, 38 S. Main St., Pennington. The office at the Hopewell Crossing Shopping Center will accept donations throughout December. Questions? Call 737-9100.

Main Street between Academy Street and the Borough Hall driveway and Delaware Avenue between Eglantine Avenue and Burd Street will be closed to traffic between 6 and 9 p.m. Friday.
