SCHOOL BOARD UPDATE

The acceptance of veteran Central High School (CHS) teacher Suzanne Snyder-Carroll’s retirement was among the personnel actions approved unanimously by the Hopewell Valley school board at its regular Nov. 20 meeting.
Ms. Snyder-Carroll has been with the Hopewell Valley district since 1989. The effective date of her retirement is Jan. 1, 2007.
Also approved by the board were the resignations of CHS librarian, JoAnn Leigh, effective Nov. 15, and CHS campus safety officer Carmen Salvatore, effective Nov. 20. Carl Weidl was appointed to replace Mr. Salvatore, effective Dec. 1, at an annual salary of $22,500.
Also accepted were the resignations of bus drivers Mark Ludwig, effective Nov. 22, and Joseph Ficci, effective Oct. 27.
Jennifer Niemeyer was appointed speech language specialist at Bear Tavern Elementary School, effective Jan. 26, for the remainder of this school year. Ms. Neimeyer will be paid at the annual rate of $44,012.
The board also named appointed Randy Jones as student representative on the Hopewell Valley Recreation Advisory Committee. Randy is a student at CHS. Whitney Harding and Rachel Muentener, also CHS students, were appointed alternate student members of the committee.
