A renovated five-bedroom house on 15.9 acres in one of the most scenic areas of Hopewell Township will be offered for sale at a public auction Friday (Dec. 1).
The Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders has ordered the sale of the property, which is owned by Mercer County.
The property, which borders Moore’s Creek, is on Pleasant Valley Road, near the Howell Living History Farm. It includes beamed ceilings and hardwood floors in the house and an in-ground pool and large barn with a loft.
The auction will be run by Max Spann Real Estate and Auction Company of Clinton, which recently handled the sale of the Martin tract for Hopewell Township.
The auction will be held at 1 p.m. at the Amwell Valley Firehouse, 22 John Ringoes Road, Ringoes.
Also scheduled to be offered for sale that day is a Dutch farmhouse, built around 1750, on 11.6 acres in East Amwell. That property is owned by Hunterdon County and has been ordered sold by that county’s freeholder board.
