Three Pennsylvania residents are facing felony drug charges as a result of a traffic stop Nov. 29.
Police stopped a vehicle driven by Joy Parks, 42 of Pottstown, Pa., after she was observed driving erratically on Route 179 in the area of Old York Road at 12:10 a.m., police said.
Ms. Parks was charged with drunken driving. Police said she had an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
Police said they also found a bag of suspected crack cocaine and an open liter bottle of vodka lying on the floor. The passengers in the vehicle, Jason Beck, 36, of Pottstown and Cory Smith, 27, of Twin Oaks, Pa., were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, third degree.
Mr. Parks also was charged with third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, reckless driving, unlicensed driving, failure to keep right, possession of an open container of alcohol, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a vehicle and driving while suspended after it was learned her license was suspended for a drunken driving conviction.
All were later released without bail.
Brenda Kershaw, 46, with no known address, was arrested Friday after the driver of the vehicle she was riding in was stopped for driving while suspended.
Police stopped John Jackson, 46, of Ringoes on Route 29 after a check of his license plate revealed he was driving on the revoked list.
The passenger, Ms. Kershaw, was wanted on a warrant issued by Trenton for failure to appear. When taken into custody, Ms. Kershaw was found to be in possession of a crack pipe, police said.
She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and turned over to Trenton police after she was unable to produce the $2,500.00 bail, police said.
Mr. Jackson was charged with driving while suspended as a result of a drunken driving conviction and operating an uninsured vehicle.
Edgar Rodriguez, 23, of Ringoes, was charged with drug possession after being stopped Sunday.
Police stopped Mr. Rodriguez on North Main Street after he was observed failing to yield to a pedestrian who was trying to use the crosswalk at 10:58 a.m., police said.
Police said Mr. Rodriguez was had several clear plastic bags lying on the floor, which he said were used to contain marijuana, police said.
He also had a glass pipe and a small bag containing suspected marijuana within the vehicle, police said.
Mr. Rodriguez was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a false government document after he also was found to have a fictitious social security card, police said.
He also was charged with failure to yield to pedestrians and released without bail.
Eric Engelhart, 41, of Rehoboth, Del., was charged with drunken driving Sunday.
Police stopped Mr. Engelhart for going 35 mph in a posted 15-mph speed zone on the Lambertville-New Hope bridge at 2:20 a.m., police said.
He also was charged with reckless driving and speeding and released without bail.
Anibal Perez, 44, of Trenton was arrested on an outstanding warrant after being stopped Nov. 30.
Police stopped Mr. Perez at 5:30 a.m. after a random check of his license plate revealed his driver’s license was suspended.
Mr. Perez had an active warrant for his arrest issued by Trenton for failure to appear, police said.
He was charged with driving while suspended and turned over to Trenton police in default of $5,000 bail.
